We stayed for 1 night while we visited Charleston. This location is fairly convenient to take a short Uber ride over the bridge to visit the city. There are many shopping options near by for anything from groceries to clothing to upscale and midrange. Easy access to many restaurants. There was a bad storm when we arrived in the afternoon that wiped out power in the area but the staff was helpful and keep us informed during the challenge. Rooms are spacious with a mini kitchen which is also very convenient. It was a nice visit!

Nice hotel. Good location and nice rooms. It's in a convenient location to Charleston and the nearby beaches and areas. Nice hotel, well kept too. My big negative: they gave our room away, which was unfortunate. Apparently, they gave them all to a softball team, ugh. Luckily, they compensated by giving us a new room, albeit, not quite the same as we requested, but very nice still. They also took 1/2 off the price, which was very nice, and the lady at the front desk was professional and kind. Besides this, it was a great hotel, just annoying when you reserved a room in advance. Great hotel, great rooms, nice location, good experience, and they made it right.

I would like to single out Shyla, for her amazing hospitality during our stay. My best friend planned a trip to visit Charleston and made reservations here. Shyla was very accommodating and her hospitality was genuine. She’s definitely an asset to Marriott! Thank you!

Although my stay at TownSuites was a bit overwhelming at first, an employee kindly guided me through the process to check in. I believe her name was Shy or Shyla, she was completely thorough and welcoming in her explanation. Every night when I came down to leave or come in, she would happily greet me and converse with me, which overall made me value the southern hospitality the hotel had to offer. I hope the hotel appreciates and values employees such as herself.

When I arrived at this hotel on April 4th 2026, I had intended on staying two weeks. I went to my room on the second floor and there was a horrific, toxic chemical smell that infused the hallways and the rooms. I had to cover my face with a blanket and leave as soon as possible. I told the front desk that I couldn't stay on that floor so they moved me to the 4th floor. They had told me they were simply painting the rooms. That did not smell like paint. Either way, there was NO ventilation so it was dangerous. On April 9th 2026, I was in my room and I could smell the same toxic chemical again. I opened up the door to the hallway and it flooded my room to the point where I couldn't even breathe and could barely stay conscious. I called the front desk to tell them I wasn't sure how to safely leave my room and they hung up on me. I called them back and they put me on hold. I had to call an ambulance for help. I had to remain in my room with blankets covering my face, hoping I wouldn’t die from the fumes. My window could only open a crack. It took the EMTs an hour to get there and the smell was not as strong by the time they arrived, so they left. However, I suffered severe toxic chemical side effects with weak muscles and neuropathy all over my body, barely able to walk and breathe. I finally made it to the front desk and the manager gaslit me, telling me it was only paint and that no one else complained, and that I have been complaining since I got there. She said I shouldn't stay in hotels if I am allergic to chemicals and continued to make me feel as if I was in the wrong for having reactions to toxic chemical smells. She said I had been complaining 'every day' since I got there, (which is not true). I have her on video yelling at me about how I had complained about the fumes the first day as well -- but then she also claimed I never said I had a problem with chemicals, which is a contradiction. They knew I had problems with the chemicals from day one, then the very next week, they actually exposed me to the same fumes literally in the hotel room adjacent to mine. I asked the maintenance guy what the smell was and he said he was in the room right next to me, glazing a bath tub. He accused me of trying to start trouble because I complained about it. I have included a picture of him threatening me. Bathtub glaze is one of the most dangerous chemicals on earth and the hotel had no ventilation, once again, and warned no one about the hazardous materials they were going to use next to guests. That could have killed someone, including me. I left the hotel because I was unable to safely go back into my room, as the smell was still leaking into my room from the adjacent room. I told the hotel that my friend would pick up my things and they said that was ok. When he arrived, they changed their mind and actually refused to let him get my things. I went back inside and told them I needed to check out but wasn’t sure how to safely get things from my room. The manager presented in the picture with this review began screaming at me about how she is going to charge me for the night because I didn’t check out on time. She had no concern about what the chemicals did to me and how I couldn’t get my belongings due to the floor being filled with hazardous fumes. She called the police on me and told them I was trespassing even though I wasn’t because I had paid for the room. She lied about me and said I was doing drugs, that I was 20 years older than I really was, that she felt I was threatening her life. She entirely lied about me to the police and to the hotel management company, IMIC. The police helped me retrieve my things from my room but it was an extremely embarrassing and horrific experience. The police were on my side by the end of it and said I was completely cooperative and did nothing wrong. They encouraged me to report what happened to me. I have included pictures in this review of the manager and the maintenance guy who were abusive towards me.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at TownePlace Suites, a Marriott property, and overall I had a very enjoyable experience. The hotel was welcoming, comfortable, and provided a pleasant environment during my visit. I would especially like to recognize one of your representatives, Tasia (TAJA), who provided exceptional customer service. Her professionalism, kindness, and willingness to assist truly made a positive impression on me and contributed greatly to the quality of my stay. The only concern I experienced occurred this morning around 8:00 AM when I was awakened by a very loud banging noise that continued for some time throughout the morning. Aside from that disturbance, everything else about my stay was excellent. Overall, I had a great time and appreciated the hospitality shown during my visit. I also want to once again commend Tasia for the outstanding service she provided. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to staying with you again in the future but WITHOUT THE BANGIN’?

I'm leaving a one star review because my wife and I were bumped from this hotel to another 15 miles in the wrong direction in spite of a confirmed reservation and arriving at the correct check-in time. We were bumped because the hotel had overbooked by quite a few rooms. I don't know how their reservation system would have allowed us to book a room there two days before our arrival when they were already overbooked. Not only were we inconvenienced by being bumped but at the second Marriott hotel we had to pay for parking and breakfast, both of which would have been included at this hotel. I was very pleasant with the front desk person and she said I would receive Marriott points to make up for the bumping but I never received any points. I tried calling Marriott and again was very pleasant with the person I spoke with. She placed me on hold while she looked into the matter and then I got disconnected. I'm very disappointed in Marriott for this situation.

Spacious rooms with an in-room kitchen, which was very convenient. Overall a comfortable stay. Just a heads-up to arrive on time for breakfast — they’re very punctual and won’t extend service past the listed hours.

The rooms are spacious, although the room appeared older than expected. The front desk staff, specifically Andrew and Teja, were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms have a stovetop, fridge/freezer and stovetop, and plates/cups/bowls. They do provide dishwasher detergent and paper towels. Housekeeping was inconsistent. Housekeeping is only provided every other day, and apparently they only empty the trash and replace towels, and only replace sheets once a week. They have laundry services that only take quarters, and it's $3/wash and $2.50/dry each load. The machines were not used frequent, so it was easy to use the machines when needed. The hotel offers breakfast every morning, and there is a small convenience store. The room was not well maintained which is why I rated it 3 stars - if housekeeping actually cleaned more, the hotel rooms would stay in better condition. The front desk service was mostly great, but I gave three stars for one bad interaction with one front desk staff when I asked for a replacement hair dryer that housekeeping had left broken in my room, and for the overall poor housekeeper services. It's in a good location - there is a Walmart and lots of restaurants nearby.

Great location. Excellent staff. The room wasn't clean to Marriott's expected standard. There were stains on the walls, bathroom, and doors. Improve the cleaning, and I'd gladly improve the rating to five stars.
