TownePlace Suites Charleston Mt. Pleasant receives mixed reviews, highlighting its convenient location, kitchen facilities, and friendly staff. However, guests have reported inconsistencies in housekeeping quality, mattress comfort issues, and disturbing overnight disturbances. Some travelers found the reservation and check-in processes problematic.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at TownePlace Suites, a Marriott property, and overall I had a very enjoyable experience. The hotel was welcoming, comfortable, and provided a pleasant environment during my visit. I would especially like to recognize one of your representatives, Tasia (TAJA), who provided exceptional customer service. Her professionalism, kindness, and willingness to assist truly made a positive impression on me and contributed greatly to the quality of my stay. The only concern I experienced occurred this morning around 8:00 AM when I was awakened by a very loud banging noise that continued for some time throughout the morning. Aside from that disturbance, everything else about my stay was excellent. Overall, I had a great time and appreciated the hospitality shown during my visit. I also want to once again commend Tasia for the outstanding service she provided. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to staying with you again in the future but WITHOUT THE BANGIN’?
I'm leaving a one star review because my wife and I were bumped from this hotel to another 15 miles in the wrong direction in spite of a confirmed reservation and arriving at the correct check-in time. We were bumped because the hotel had overbooked by quite a few rooms. I don't know how their reservation system would have allowed us to book a room there two days before our arrival when they were already overbooked. Not only were we inconvenienced by being bumped but at the second Marriott hotel we had to pay for parking and breakfast, both of which would have been included at this hotel. I was very pleasant with the front desk person and she said I would receive Marriott points to make up for the bumping but I never received any points. I tried calling Marriott and again was very pleasant with the person I spoke with. She placed me on hold while she looked into the matter and then I got disconnected. I'm very disappointed in Marriott for this situation.
Spacious rooms with an in-room kitchen, which was very convenient. Overall a comfortable stay. Just a heads-up to arrive on time for breakfast — they’re very punctual and won’t extend service past the listed hours.
The rooms are spacious, although the room appeared older than expected. The front desk staff, specifically Andrew and Teja, were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms have a stovetop, fridge/freezer and stovetop, and plates/cups/bowls. They do provide dishwasher detergent and paper towels. Housekeeping was inconsistent. Housekeeping is only provided every other day, and apparently they only empty the trash and replace towels, and only replace sheets once a week. They have laundry services that only take quarters, and it's $3/wash and $2.50/dry each load. The machines were not used frequent, so it was easy to use the machines when needed. The hotel offers breakfast every morning, and there is a small convenience store. The room was not well maintained which is why I rated it 3 stars - if housekeeping actually cleaned more, the hotel rooms would stay in better condition. The front desk service was mostly great, but I gave three stars for one bad interaction with one front desk staff when I asked for a replacement hair dryer that housekeeping had left broken in my room, and for the overall poor housekeeper services. It's in a good location - there is a Walmart and lots of restaurants nearby.
Great location. Excellent staff. The room wasn't clean to Marriott's expected standard. There were stains on the walls, bathroom, and doors. Improve the cleaning, and I'd gladly improve the rating to five stars.
Nice Marriott budget property that was fairly new and very well managed. Rooms have a big refrigerator and freezer which is nice. Bathroom and shower were good and shower was oversized with plenty of room. The only thing that didn’t work for us is the mattress was softer than we are used to so our backs stiffened up after two nights. If you prefer a soft mattress this is your place but if you like a firmer mattress then this might be a problem. The breakfast was excellent and they even had a woman making waffles ahead and was offering them to customers as they walked in. The blueberry muffins were delicious on both days.
We are Marriott members and frequent travelers. Location was good. Front desk personnel were pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast was average at best. Housekeeping could use some improvement. It was very difficult to get supplies for the room that should have already been stocked ( toiletries , towels, coffee, etc) due to language barrier.
Nice place to stay over in Mt Pleasant. It was close to where I needed to be for work. Room was nice and clean. Having a full kitchen especially having a full refrigerator with freezer was very nice. They have a good free breakfast in the morning and plenty of parking. Rooms were quiet even though you are near a large road. Waze takes you past the hotel. It is right beside the Doubletree.
I really enjoyed this hotel for the price point. Nice staff. The sheets and towels are laundered well. I stayed at another budget Marriott in the area and I got an awful skin rash from the lines. The manager said it might be the detergent that they use. Anyways, no skin issues here! Decent breakfast. I appreciated the paleo options: eggs, bacon, apple, walnuts, and raisins. They serve soy milk, too. :) Thank you! Staff was also nice w my service animal.
I am giving two stars for our initial customer service and location. I recently stayed at TownePlace Suites Mt Pleasant / Charleston, SC, and unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. The bed was extremely firm, causing back aches both nights of my stay. I also found long strands of hair in the shower and on the bathroom floor upon arrival, which raised immediate concerns about cleanliness. What truly compelled me to leave this review, however, was how rushed and uncomfortable I felt on the morning of checkout. Housekeeping knocked on my door three times, first at 9:00 AM, then again at 10:00, and finally at 10:49 despite the posted checkout time being 12:00 PM. When we came out at 11:15 she was standing by the door waiting with her cart. The repeated knocking made me feel rushed and anxious, especially as I was packing to leave. It was an unpleasant and stressful way to end an otherwise enjoyable trip. I addressed my concerns at the front desk, but the staff member could only provide first names stating the manager wouldn’t be in until the next day. This lack of accountability left me feeling that my complaint may not be taken seriously. I expected better service and hospitality from a Marriott property. I hope management reviews this feedback and takes steps to improve the guest experience.
