The TownePlace Suites Charleston Airport/Convention Center consistently receives positive feedback for its friendly staff and convenient location near the airport, Tanger Outlet Mall, and Top Golf. While some guests appreciate the complimentary breakfast and overall welcoming atmosphere, recurring issues with room maintenance and inconsistent service have been reported.
Or family chooses this place everytime we're in N. Charleston. Such a friendly & personable team & good breakfast choices! Close to the airport & lots of places to eat, shop & play nearby.
Really good breakfast here. Friendly front dest Big room The only thing is I waited 40min at CHS airport for the hotel shuttle.
From the moment I arrived I was well taken care of. Amber, Ben, and Donna were a delight to interact with each morning during breakfast. Mary, Shane, and Rhonda were equally as delightful. The entire staff made me feel right at home throughout my stay. The complimentary breakfast great and so is the complimentary dinner every Tuesday. The hotel is located directly across from the Tanger Outlet Mall and Top Golf. The hotel has plenty of fast food and restaurants nearby all within walking distance.
After a month long stay, very nice hotel. Majority of the staff is very welcoming. Breakfast staff is amazing! Will definitely be back!
Recently stayed and it was perfect for business travel. Clean, quiet, good breakfast. I counted at least 15 restaurants and a Walmart within a 5 min walk and no need to cross busy streets.
Our family had a wonderful stay! The staff were friendly, breakfast was delicious, rooms were sparkling clean, and the location was perfect. Highly recommend this hotel!
Needed a last minute hotel room because my husband and I were stuck in Charleston for the night after air travel issues. Booked this hotel and while it’s no frills, it was clean, close to the airport, the beds were comfortable and the employees were all lovely - esp Breakfast Hostess, Donna, and the other nice ladies she works with. A true joy to converse with after a stressful night of travel!
Soo where do I start… I couldn’t wait to leave. I was on a extended stay at this hotel for work purposes. Well 1st the rooms are very very small. I felt like I was in a closet. Had a kitchenette but I didn’t cook due to no ventilation and the closet is right next to the cooking area so my clothes would have smelled just my food. 2nd nothing works the elevator works every other week. My room has a ant colony on the couch. Only time I got my room cleaned in 30 days was when I had to go to Housekeeping management she made sure my room was cleaned every time I asked. Front desk was a joke every time i informed them I needed my room cleaned it never happened. Always had to get my own towels every other day. Because they were never changed on time. 3rd Mr. Benny the van driver is very rude. When asked to go to the store before work he had a problem with that. Like I understand what the van service is for???? Because after being told that the flight crew is top priority. What about the guest that pay to stay here? The van drivers would rather sit and be on there phones then actually do there job… this place has roaches in the front entrance way. Raccoons near the side doors both… there is a lot moisture in this hotel so it attracts Bugs… this was the worse 30 days staying in a hotel. Also check your bed sheets because then don’t get changed either…. Had to start leaving my towels in the hallway because they would never remove them….. Ms.Boyd….. nope I’m never coming back….
Like many others have said, the staff here were excellent (shout out to Ms. D at breakfast!!), and really the only reason I can give any stars at all. Our room was probably one of the most disappointing Marriott rooms I've ever had (and I typically travel 50+ nights a year, almost exclusively Marriott properties). I would have expected the same from an off brand, but Marriott needs to do better. The room felt like it was the last room to be built and it got all of the leftover parts. The toilet did not flush. One of the three AC units worked, one did not turn on at all (the main one for the room), and one blew humid room temperature air. They fixed the toilet quickly but the AC wasn't fixed until the 2nd day of our 2 night stay, but even then they could only get one more unit working. Our first night was a very warm and moist one. The curtains were partially missing, and the ones there barely covered the windows. The art on the room walls was random (we wondered if it was placed to cover up holes in the wall). The couch was small, old, and very uncomfortable and was odd for the size room it was in. The lamp still had all of the plastic on the cord and shade. The bathroom had no hooks but had lots of holes in the walls where maybe some used to be, and the mirror was peeling. One bedroom had the door on backwards (hinge cutouts on the latch side) and no doorknob, the other room had a cut out for a TV but nothing was there. The closets had leftover parts, maybe from some kind of renovation. I was given 10k points for the AC issue, but having the swampy night comped would have been a much better option. I'm still waiting to see if Marriott asks me for my review on this stay but it's been 2 days and they haven't yet.
We absolutely appreciate the Southern hospitality here. Every month I visit for work and while the rooms aren't top of the line, I overlook that because the staff is so lovely. Especially enjoy the options in the morning, the breakfast team is outstanding. Everyone feels welcomed and cared for, which is a great way to start each day.
