Stayed here for 5 nights and loved it! Perfect location and beautiful views! Very quick drive to everything such as downtown Charleston and beaches. All surrounding restaurants right there at the docks are a fun vibe at night & I really enjoyed walking over to the Palmetto Breeze right behind the hotel and going on a sunset cruise. Rooms were very clean & beautiful views on the creek side. I was never kept up at night from any of the crowds at the restaurants which was nice. Loved taking morning walks along the pier / wooden walkway through the marsh. Didn't go to the pool or have any of their complimentary breakfast, but looked nice! Also good amount of parking with easy access to the elevator. Would definitely recommend if you don't want to stay downtown or right on the beach. Also Uber rides from here to Sullivans Island or Downtown were only about $16.

I used to travel for business a lot and I would stay at Shem Creek Inn. The location is incredible and the best feature of the hotel. The hotel needs some updating. During my recent stay the shower door was missing its handles. In the room there where four areas where a portion of the ceil had been painted. The staff is great, location is great, but this hotel needs some serious updates and repairs.

Overall a very good place to stay. Basic, take back to your room breakfast, Staff was very friendly and helpful. At our request, we were graciously given a room with a better view. The location overlooking the marsh and shrimp boat docks was great. Although there are several bars, pubs, and restaurants around the harbor/dock area, we were never bothered by noise. Great boardwalks around the marsh and harbor. Be aware that Mt Pleasant/Shem Creek area has lots of traffic as does most of the Charleston area. Overall I give Shem Creek Inn a grade A.

Love this place! I’ve been here several times. Rooms are nice, staff are so down to earth and friendly. Steps away from nature and beauty. I saw so many dolphins, pelicans, fish always jumping. The little bar down stairs is so convenient and has good food. Walk across the bridge and there is a restaurant or bar for everyone. I tried them all.

My wife and I stayed at the Shem Creek Inn for a weekend as we were running the Cooper River Bridge Run. We stayed in the room facing the creek and on the end of the hall. The inn is a little dated and could use some TLC but our mattress was very comfortable and the shower was hot and spacious. We stayed on a Friday night and Saturday night. I was concerned that the local bars and restaurants would keep us up. But while we could definitely hear the music we both enjoyed our sleep. I chose the inn due to its proximity to the starting line of the race and I figured we could watch the boats and activity on the creek. Unfortunately the weather was a little cool so we didn’t get to spend more time on the balcony or the boardwalk. The inn does offer a grab and go breakfast, which is assorted juices and coffee. Mostly breakfast bars, yogurt and some breakfast sandwiches. The parking is very limited. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Our second night, we walked over the bridge to the restaurant on the other side of the creek. Super convenient. For the price, I don’t think we would stay here again. It was a good experience but not one that we would “run it back” as the kids say.

If I could give 10 stars I would. From the time we walked in and was greeted I knew I was going to love this place. The front desk gentleman made sure my granddaughter had little prizes to enjoy during our stay. Our room was so clean and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely make this our forever place to stay when we visit. Can't wait to visit again very soon. Highly recommend.

A unique, relaxed Inn on Shem Creek. My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. Our room was very clean. Bed was so comfortable! I recommend booking a creekside room so you are able to enjoy these wonderful views of the fishing trawlers, restaurants, and Shem Creek. Staff was very pleasant and attentive. Thanks so much!! A++

Great hotel with amazing employees. Nice clean room with a very good breakfast. I really can’t say enough about the front desk. They could not be any nicer or more welcoming. My family can’t wait to come back!

We prefer the creek side rooms to be able to watch the boats and activities at the restaurants. The marsh side does have a sunset view.

We truly enjoyed our stay here, and will highly recommend for any of our friends traveling through the area! Management, (especially Doug) was so friendly and easy to work with, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. Walking distance to several local bars and restaurants, and was easy to navigate! If we end up back in Charleston/Mt. Pleasant we will definitely stay here again!!!
