The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charleston Airport - Convention Center offers a generally comfortable and clean stay with convenient airport access and a good location near Tanger Outlets and restaurants. While many guests appreciate the friendly staff and free amenities like a shuttle and pool, repeated issues with cleanliness, inconsistent WiFi, and breakfast quality have been reported.
When entering the hotel, it was presentable and clean. Mrs. Ford checked me in and I was pleased with her hospitality. My mother, daughter and I enjoyed the hot breakfast in the morning as well as the indoor pool and hot tub. Too bad the hot tub didn't get warmer though, but it's definitely an asset. The room was clean and the bathroom was spacious. All staff that we encountered were friendly and professional. Thank you all!
From the time we entered the front door, the staff at this Montague St location was warm and welcoming, and they provided helpful information throughout our weekend stay. Everyone was awesome! The rooms were very clean and well kept, although the chaise in my room could stand to be cleaned or replaced. The location was very close to Tanger Outlet Mall and several other stores and restaurants, and about a 15 minute UBER/LYFT ride from downtown Charleston. We had a very pleasant stay, and I would not hesitate to stay there again.
Great value-for-money hotel near the airport. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bed was very cozy. The city is easily accessible, and there are plenty of good food options within walking distance. A couple of minor downsides: after two nights, the WiFi started disconnecting frequently and required downloading the IHG app to stay connected, which felt unnecessary. Also, the breakfast is quite basic with limited options. Overall, a good stay, especially for the price.
I have literally tried to give this hotel the benefit of the doubt. I've had ants in my room twice . I still come back . I ask for a late check out only to come back and find my room totally picked apart by housekeeping and this is not the first time it has happened more than once on separate occasions. I try to be understanding but when the same slackness continues to happen something needs to be said. I will be patronizing another hotel from now on this Holiday Inn on W. Montague has lost my business. Please do better. Perhaps the Hampton across the street will be more accommodating to my late check out request.
The rooms were very clean! Though it took us longer than we'd like to admit on finding the main light switch. That was the only frustration, we spent the first evening there in the dark because of it. (It's not a traditional switch, or on the wall.. it's on the side of a cabinet). But the people at the front desk were also very nice, and helpful. It was a great stay overall!
Room was fine, except the shower did not drain correctly and the handle was also broken. I told the front desk clerk and she said eagerly that she would pass it on. All the staff was wonderful: the night and day front desk clerk, the breakfast attendants, housekeepers and especially the shuttle driver, KC. Breakfast was nasty, sorry to say. Typical chain hotel food. But what was really bad was there was no milk for the coffee, just Coffee Mate. I know this is a Southern tradition, but it’s one to let fade away. I had to open a 12-oz plastic bottle of milk to add to the coffee. What a waste.
Lori at the front desk was exceptional. I had called earlier in the morning and made a special request. I’ve never had this happen before but she actually emailed me back confirming that she was able to grant my request. Exceptional customer service. The hotel was very clean. We were going to an event and my wife asked the front desk how far the place of the event was away that the event was being held at. We were told a few minutes and then the hotel Cory kindly offered to take us there and pick us up, again above and beyond. This room did not have a coffee maker in it come on IHG you can do better than that.
Directly in the airport flight path and they fly low. In addition there is a lot of street noise. Indoor pool was cold and hot tub was warm. Temperature in the room was hard to regulate. Breakfast was hit or miss. Beds /pillows were comfortable and the shower was nice.
My daughter and her boyfriend and I stayed here and it was very comfortable beds beautiful view for the first time being in Charleston the food for breakfast was delicious the jacuzzi felt wonderful that is the main reason we booked this place cuz hardly any hotels have jacuzzis indoor and with my disability I needed that. Lori and Kevin were exceptional at the front desk concierge they were able to give us a late check out extra sheets whatever we needed very very good at customer service. Reya is the one who checked us in she treated us like we were family she made sure we had water bottles extra towels bedding for the sofa sleeper any questions we had she was a very quick on answering them. I would recommend this hotel for a very comfortable and ease of a stay.
Nowhere on their website does it say you have to call them for shuttle pickup at the airport and then to be told the shuttle that picks you up is labeled with a different hotel name makes it VERY confusing. Still no shuttle after an hour so finally called an Uber. Then no coffee maker in the room. Breakfast was decent. While the room was a nice king size, I'd be hesitant to stay here again. Dont stay on the 4th/top floor unless you love the spund of aircraft taking off. Overall an average stay hence 3 stars. Plenty of other hotel brands to choose from.
