The Meeting Street Inn offers a charming and centrally located experience in historic Charleston, known for its friendly staff, complimentary evening treats like wine, cheese, cookies, and milk, and proximity to major attractions. While praised for its location and southern ambiance, some guests have noted maintenance issues and concerns regarding room cleanliness and a persistent floral scent.
I had an awesome stay here! Comfy bed, decent-looking room with good AC. Room had some things that could see some repairs, such as a paintless spot or two on the wall, but otherwise nothing profound enough to impact the quality of my stay. Also really enjoyed the free wine/cheese and the milk/cookie receptions that they offered, as well as the proximity of the inn to the Charleston City Market and other neat attractions downtown!
Wonderful experience here for the weekend. We could walk almost everywhere, it was a very central location. The hotel had a lovely courtyard and fountains - they did breakfast in the morning, cheese and wine at happy hour, and cookies and milk at night. The rooms were spacious but a little old, but no major issues!
Exceptional stay and amenities were thoughtful and memorable. Continental breakfast was a little different every day and I enjoyed this, especially the crispy bacon! The 5 o’clock wine hour was nice with 3 types of wine, beer, cheese and wine with grapes, strawberries and olives, crackers and my personal favorite pickled okra. The caveat was milk and cookies at 8 and they were the best chocolate chip cookies. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious with a courtyard taking us back to old Charleston. The doorman was sweet and polite with enough charm to make me want to come back.
What a wonderful stay for our honeymoon!! We enjoyed the private balcony and historic feel to the place. Breakfast in the mornings were enjoyable outside on the open air courtyard. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location not needing to drive anywhere, all we wanted to see was within walking distance. Look forward to our next stay. Construction next door was a bit offsetting but out of their control, sure the work will be done soon.
Location was great but that's as far as it goes. What was advertised as old world charm was really lack of maintenance, a shabby room, and an uncharming motel lobby. we prefer to stay at old world inns, but this one crossed the line to filthy. When we requested another room we were charged more.
The Inn is located in the perfect spot with walking distance to everything you want. It is directly across the street from the market and shops and restaurants all around. Arteice was so friendly and welcoming from the minute we checked in to the minute we checked out. She is a gem. The free breakfast was wonderful along with wine/cheese and beer at 5pm & even cookies and milk at 8pm. You get a lot of bang for your buck at The Meeting St Inn.
Oh my gosh don’t get me started on this hotel. This is the best hotel I’ve ever been in for travel wise. The location of this hotel is great, the people that work here are so kind and willing to help. It sounds funny but having a vending machine at the bottom floor is a live saver. Good breakfast food. This is an awesome hotel if you are looking for a niche, chic, old, classy, clean, organized, small, simple, colorful, elegant hotel. However the pool is a little small but that’s besides any of it.

This room was great. The hotel is older but has that southern charm. It is well taken care of and In a great location. Best of all, the service and attention here is amazing. Every single front desk employee we encountered was amazing, I wish I knew all of their names, we met Atleast 4 and multiple staff that help set up the wine and cheese/ cookies and hot chocolate and breakfast stations. And yes you read right, this hotel has breakfast, then wine and cheese at 5, then cookies and milk in the evening. My cousin also fell walking on the sidewalk in Charleston and they even ran to get her bandaids and Neosporin. They really made us feel welcomed.
Thank you, Arteice, for your warm welcome and wonderful service at the Meeting Street Inn in Charleston. The daytime staff of Arteice and Renee are the best! In addition to lovely historic accommodations with the historic City Market just across the street, our lodging included From 7-9am a lively breakfast buffet bar of scrambled eggs, sausage patties, a variety of fresh fruit, pastries, bagels & assorted cream cheese, OJ, coffee and a variety of teas. An evening of wine and a wonderful charcuterie spread of meats, cheeses, humus, olives, crackers, fresh strawberries and more Followed later by fresh baked cookies and hot chocolate, coffee, tea or cold drinks. Rooms were clean and recently renovated, beds were comfy, linens were ample and staff was gracious.
