The DoubleTree by Hilton North Charleston - Convention Center receives mixed guest reviews, with highlights including helpful staff, a convenient location near the airport and outlets, and a peaceful outdoor area. However, concerns center around inconsistent room conditions, issues with billing and cleanliness, and frustrating interactions with front desk personnel.

Stayed 10 nights as a Diamond member. Second night noticed a dirty bug in my room and notified staff, who reported it to their Management. (I HAVE A PHOTO) The night before I check out, I received a notification while at dinner that I had been checked out of my room, so I called the front desk, in which they stated "you didn't want to be checked out" ??? Nope! Which they then had to reinstate my room, later finding out the GM is the one who checked me out. As to why who knows, no explanation! NOT one person/manager offered to move my room, apologize or get in touch with me regarding the above issues. I even was forwarded an internal email regarding everything that happened by an employee. Thank you Barbara/night shift and Suzie/Bartender who were great along with the front desk manager Isabella.

I've been denied a room here twice over the past couple of months for multiple "technical" reasons after I've booked and paid over the phone /online. Was convenient because i work at the airport. There's other hotels on the area.

The manager is really great and very helpful. Susie and Sylvia (they work at the bar) have been really great as well. The room is ok. The carpet in front of the AC unit is damp, the seal around the shower door leaks water, the drawers on the dresser are messed up and hard to close, and the ceiling has 5 holes drilled into it. There is paint on the tiles in the entry and drink stains on the wall by the table. I also found trash under the curtains and under the bed. I'm not complaining but this is not the best room i have stayed in with Hilton this year. I frequent this area monthly for 6 to 10 days at a time. So i spent allot of time with Hilton.

We stayed here may 15-17 for my birthday. This was my first time at this double tree. The staff was amazing and friendly. The rooms were clean and the hotel was beautiful. However the biggest reason I will absolutely come back is because at 2am my son sleep walked out of our room all the way to the lobby. Kimberly the lady running the front desk and Pete the maintenance man quickly realized something was wrong. They got my number from my sleeping son and attempted to call and text me (we were in the room fast asleep). Pete then walked my son back to our room (where my son woke me up). He then came back later to make sure he was ok. I cannot thank them enough. Something terrible could have happened and it didn't because of those two. They are amazing and I truly truly truly hope they get something from this review because they saved my baby from something potentially bad happening to him. I cannot express enough gratitude for them. Thank you so much!

Staff was very nice, room design was cool was kept really clean. Can't beat the location if you're doing work at the airport. Best airport shuttle in the area. If you're looking for the hotel to book on concur this is your place

Bathroom had weird smell, Random fire alarm chirp at 3am woke us up, breakfast was not free, pool is closed, room was very dusty, and one elevator was broken while the working one was slow. Other than that the staff were very nice.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport International Blvd — Room 224 Stay: Sunday, February 15 I review on the metrics that matter to me — the rest can be quibbled over elsewhere. King bed: Comfy. No complaints. Solid sleep. Shower ?: Water pressure was mid. Hot water temperature range? Either “hottest” or “liquid lava.” No in-between. Towels: Scratchy… but absolutely ginormous. As a big, fat, old body, I appreciated the acreage. Splenda availability: Unicorn status while traveling. Grabbed hella for my girl. Major win. FREE airport shuttle: Appreciated, but comparatively slow. Build in buffer time. Overall: It handled the basics. Bed was good, coffee station hooked us up, shuttle got us there eventually. If you’re staying for proximity to the airport, it does the job.

This hotel is in a good spot. Very close to the Outlets and a Chili’s within walking distance. Can’t really beat that. Stayed here for two weeks and i truly had nothing to complain about. The restaurant/ bar downstairs serves a decent meal. The gym is small but efficient for the space. Not to mention pretty darn clean. The outdoors area is very peaceful for sitting and reading. The pool is a nice size as well. This location is right off the highway and there is plenty of parking as well that does not require a hike. Great spot for an extended stay!

First of all $400.00+ for two nights. Then we have four people staying in a two queen room, once we get to our room we have three towels. This happens every time. They offer a "free" breakfast but if you have to leave before 7AM (like we did for volleyball tournament) you DON'T GET A BREAKFAST! And the front desk just has a "oh well" attitude. When they came to service the room they took ALL the towels and left TWO new ones, didn't restock any of the coffee stuff. So once again we have to go to the front desk and get to talk to Miss "Personality". So to management, we won't stay here again and I don't want your excuses.... just do better!

I have nothing but great things to say about this place and would highly recommend staying here. My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during our first visit to Charleston. Aside from the obvious great location to the Charleston airport and outlet shopping center, and the cleanliness and niceness of the rooms, I am truly writing this review because of the staff. Not only were they welcoming and kind to use during our stay - offering lots of warm chocolate chip cookies - but this staff went above and beyond for us in a very cool way, even after our stay. My husband held his arm out to prevent the elevator door from closing on a mom with a newborn and a young toddler, which resulted in the bracelet he was wearing to fall down the elevator shaft. This wasn't just any bracelet - it was hand-made for him by a Hawaiian local during our wedding in Honolulu earlier this year (I have a matching one). We thought it was gone forever. We understood the chances were very slim, but we spoke with the front desk and asked if their maintenance look for the bracelet during their next servicing. They told us they couldn't promise anything, and we understood. To our surprise, a week and a half later, I received a call from Shiela letting me know they had found it! She took care to ask me to identify the bracelet to make sure it was ours and get it shipped back to us in Washington State. From two Seattle-lites thinking of relocating to Charleston (the reason for our visit), this proves what kindness and hospitality exists in this city. After our two nights here, we relocated to a hotel on the waterfront for the rest of our trip. We were far more impressed with our stay at DoubleTree than we were with the expensive waterfront resort. Thank you so much, DoubleTree! - Mr. and Mrs. Davis.
