The DoubleTree by Hilton Charleston Mount Pleasant offers a comfortable and convenient base for exploring Charleston and the surrounding areas, with generally positive feedback on cleanliness and service. However, some recent reviews highlight concerns regarding room maintenance, bathroom issues, and a slightly dated overall feel.
Nice enough for the price, with a slightly upscale environment and an exceptionally friendly and helpful staff from the front desk to the restaurant. The property is clean and well-maintained, but the rooms could use a makeover. Furniture and other room amenities are showing signs of wear. Doubt I’d stay here again until it gets the upgrades, but I'm not sorry I stayed.
We reserved a room with 2 queen beds, which were very comfortable. The room had a small fridge, microwave and a workable thermostat. Two meals were served, a full buffet breakfast and a menu'd dinner. Now the 'not so good stuff'...There was not enough lighting in the bathroom and the bathroom outlet vent didn't work. Other than that, very clean, safe location, didn't notice any noise at night. Next time in Charleston, we will stay at this Hotel...I highly recommend this hotel.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this property. I was overall impressed with Hilton properties during our roadtrip. I wasn't sure about staying in Mt. Pleasant vs. Charleston, and boy was I glad we stayed here. First of all, Mt. Pleasant is beautiful, and feels a bit slower and less crowded than the city, but it's still a short drive (no more than ten minutes) to get to Charleston, and also a short 10 minute drive to Sullivan's Island, which you should visit. Okay, onto the hotel: clean, updated room, SUPER comfortable beds ( I even told my husband I was going to stay another week just for the mattress.) Quiet and peaceful rooms. The staff is amazing! There was a snafu with our reservation and the room we booked didn't end up working for us, and the lovely woman at the front desk quickly sorted it out and even upgraded our room (even though it was our mistake). That's what I call Southern hospitality! When I say that I can't wait to go back to the Charleston area and to stay at this hotel, I am not exaggerating.
I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Mount Pleasant and had a very comfortable experience. The hotel was clean, quiet, and well maintained, which made it easy to relax after a long day of travel. I checked in later in the evening and appreciated having an on site restaurant available. Dinner was very good and convenient, especially since I did not have to leave the property. The dining area was calm and peaceful, which added to the overall relaxing atmosphere of the stay.
I embarked on a solo trip to Charleston, seeking solace and clarity after a hectic work schedule. This hotel perfectly aligned with my expectations. The serene surroundings and the warm, welcoming staff created an inviting atmosphere. Whether for business or a brief getaway, this hotel offers an ideal setting. I wholeheartedly recommend it and would gladly return. However, I would suggest enhancing the view from my hotel room. Currently, the view is limited, and I yearn for a more expansive perspective.
This hotel is a typical hotel for its price, nothing fancy. We appreciated the fact that there is daily housekeeping service. Marilyn at the front desk is lovely and very helpful. However, there were 3 reasons I only give it 3 stars: we had ants in the bathroom, there was a big rust stain in the tub, and the beds are way, way too high (the top of the mattress reached my navel, so I had to climb on a chair to get into the bed). When I checked out, I learned they have step stools.
Great hotel in a beautiful spot. Mount Pleasant is so lovely, it’s like a city in the woods. The check in experience was great, Mark made the experience seamless. Beautiful room, with a seriously comfy bed. Clean! Pretty simple $15 breakfast buffet, with no pork alternatives, but you can order an omelette and a couple other ready made things to go with it, and I admit I didn’t ask about other protein options. The gym is pretty small, as is the pool. Easy walk to a plaza with a Michael’s, Walmart, enormous liquor store, and a few banks, some other things. 10 minutes to Isle of Palms
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! All of the staff were so welcoming and kind. My 7-year-old son couldn’t stop talking about how sweet the lady who helped us at check-in was—I wish I’d caught her name, but I believe she was the manager. She made such a wonderful impression on him! The older gentleman at the front desk was also very nice and friendly when my son asked for a cookie the next day. Our room was clean, and the hotel’s location was convenient for everything we needed. We would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again if we’re ever in the area!
A very nice hotel, but unfortunately there were ants on the carpet and on one of the beds.Breakfast was $15 and cold, not tasty at all. Beds were comfortable but very high up. Room furniture is old. It was very clean though and the lobby is pretty.
Comfortable and quiet hotel. The bed is amazing! The food was great and the staff were friendly. It’s an older hotel but has been maintained and remodeled. The internet is fast, water pressure is good! Lighting set up in the rooms are a bit odd but there’s light, so there’s that. The sundry set up is freaking annoying and an alarm goes off every time you walk in there so the staff knows someone’s in there. Like put a check out register in there like all the other Hilton’s, problem solved.
