The DoubleTree by Hilton Charleston Mount Pleasant offers a generally comfortable stay with convenient access to local amenities and beaches, praised for its cleanliness and friendly staff. However, some guests have reported issues with room features such as bed height and view, as well as occasional maintenance concerns like ants and rust stains.
I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Mount Pleasant and had a very comfortable experience. The hotel was clean, quiet, and well maintained, which made it easy to relax after a long day of travel. I checked in later in the evening and appreciated having an on site restaurant available. Dinner was very good and convenient, especially since I did not have to leave the property. The dining area was calm and peaceful, which added to the overall relaxing atmosphere of the stay.
I embarked on a solo trip to Charleston, seeking solace and clarity after a hectic work schedule. This hotel perfectly aligned with my expectations. The serene surroundings and the warm, welcoming staff created an inviting atmosphere. Whether for business or a brief getaway, this hotel offers an ideal setting. I wholeheartedly recommend it and would gladly return. However, I would suggest enhancing the view from my hotel room. Currently, the view is limited, and I yearn for a more expansive perspective.
This hotel is a typical hotel for its price, nothing fancy. We appreciated the fact that there is daily housekeeping service. Marilyn at the front desk is lovely and very helpful. However, there were 3 reasons I only give it 3 stars: we had ants in the bathroom, there was a big rust stain in the tub, and the beds are way, way too high (the top of the mattress reached my navel, so I had to climb on a chair to get into the bed). When I checked out, I learned they have step stools.
Great hotel in a beautiful spot. Mount Pleasant is so lovely, it’s like a city in the woods. The check in experience was great, Mark made the experience seamless. Beautiful room, with a seriously comfy bed. Clean! Pretty simple $15 breakfast buffet, with no pork alternatives, but you can order an omelette and a couple other ready made things to go with it, and I admit I didn’t ask about other protein options. The gym is pretty small, as is the pool. Easy walk to a plaza with a Michael’s, Walmart, enormous liquor store, and a few banks, some other things. 10 minutes to Isle of Palms
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! All of the staff were so welcoming and kind. My 7-year-old son couldn’t stop talking about how sweet the lady who helped us at check-in was—I wish I’d caught her name, but I believe she was the manager. She made such a wonderful impression on him! The older gentleman at the front desk was also very nice and friendly when my son asked for a cookie the next day. Our room was clean, and the hotel’s location was convenient for everything we needed. We would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again if we’re ever in the area!
A very nice hotel, but unfortunately there were ants on the carpet and on one of the beds.Breakfast was $15 and cold, not tasty at all. Beds were comfortable but very high up. Room furniture is old. It was very clean though and the lobby is pretty.
Comfortable and quiet hotel. The bed is amazing! The food was great and the staff were friendly. It’s an older hotel but has been maintained and remodeled. The internet is fast, water pressure is good! Lighting set up in the rooms are a bit odd but there’s light, so there’s that. The sundry set up is freaking annoying and an alarm goes off every time you walk in there so the staff knows someone’s in there. Like put a check out register in there like all the other Hilton’s, problem solved.
I had to stay one night because my cat was having surgery at Blue Pearl and I was not able to pick her up until the next day. The gentleman that worked guest services counter was so friendly! He gave me a nice hot cookie upon check in (love DoubleTree for that) He asked why I was visiting, and I explained my situation and he was so genuine and even asked about my cat at checkout to see how her surgery went. The rooms are VERY clean. The floors don’t make your feet dirty. The towels were folded like bows which was so cute. The beds were so clean and so comfy. I will be staying there again.
Overall sub-par hotel experience at the Hilton double tree. No body soap in the room, called the front desk and they said they might have some and I could come down and get it… ok. Some weird stuff going on with the shower head too. They charge $15 for their hotel breakfast - yes the dry cold hotel breakfast eggs and microwaved French toast sticks. Room was relatively clean and fine but service was lackluster. Wouldn’t be my first or second pick if I was returning.
I stayed here for almost a week with my kids and the manager Erika was the sweetest, kindest person I’ve ever encountered in a hotel. She was so personable and so kind. On top of that, the hotel is 10 minutes from two different beaches, 1 less private than the other, but still great. This is a great place to stay, close to all the shops, and quaint and cozy.
