I booked 2 nights here for a project a few days out that was scheduled for 3 days. It turns out the customer was not ready so I reached out to see if I could cancel. I was told "no problem Mr.Banks we will get that taken care of for you". I am a titanium member and I generally am accomodated. I never received any email or correspondence after my check in instructions, no invoice, my app doesnt show the stay etc. This was expected and reflected that the cancelation was successful at no charge. I was later notified by my employer that the charge for a night was being withheld from my paycheck. I looked again for any correspondence or a stay for that date and could find none. I reached out to the property and the AGM was happy to inform me that they enforce a cancelation policy of charging 1 night without 48 hours notice in all circumstances. Apparently they don't believe in notice on their side of the transaction though so I would advise against booking here unless you are already in the parking lot with your luggage as you could pay without even knowing if you end up not making it. I'm sure there is a nearby Hilton property that is more understanding of the needs of their business customers.

Our stay at this location was extremely disappointing and honestly unsettling. When we got into the bed, we discovered something on the sheets that was absolutely disgusting. It wasn’t just on the fitted sheet—it was clearly on the top sheet and the comforter as well, making it obvious the bedding had not been properly cleaned or replaced. This is unacceptable for any hotel, especially one under the Marriott name where basic cleanliness should be a guarantee. It completely ruined our comfort and sense of safety during the stay. To make matters worse, when we brought it up at checkout, the staff gave what felt like a quick, dismissive response. We were told they would give us points, but it felt more like an attempt to push us out the door rather than genuinely address the issue. On top of that, nothing was ever actually followed through on—no points were received and no real resolution was provided. Between the cleanliness issue and the lack of accountability, this experience fell far below expectations. We would not stay here again. Our stay at this location was extremely disappointing and honestly unsettling. The staff is absolutely amazing! Every single one of them is a master of southern hospitality. The rooms are kept nice and neat. The hotel has a great central location. Sorry, I took pictures during my stay. The room was immaculate when I first entered.

Great place, friendly staff. The front desk attendant was extremely helpful and polite. We had dinner one nice and it was great, the attendant was absolutely a joy and hilarious. The only reason why 4 stars, the ladies at the bistro could not make a white mocha with a extra shot correctly. Stood there and complained about kids in the lobby for 5 minutes while I was standing there ready to order. Other than that, great place to stay.

The front staff was friendly. However, this is where it stops. The housekeeping is apparently through a temp agency, and it shows. The biggest issue was security. I declined housekeeping for the entire stay. After returning from being gone all day, we returned to find that our hotel door was open. Housekeeping had come into our room, which they were not supposed to, and had performed cleaning services halfway. They left the door open. The door was left open for anyone to walk into our room. Not only were they not supposed to be in the room, but they did not even do their job correctly. The door did not shut all the way, which was an inconvenience as we had to slam it shut every time we left. The assistant manager handled the complaint but simply wanted to give me some points, which was not acceptable. I finally got her to agree to comp the one night. She stated she would call me or text me to follow up; however, she did not. There was a lack of trust, and I did not feel comfortable leaving my valuables, so I took them with me every time I left. I do not feel one night free was compensation enough for the incident. I would have left, but it would have cost me to cancel the room and cost more since it would be a last-minute reservation. The room had stained carpet. There was no soap in the shower, which was not discovered until I got into the shower. The ice maker leaks, and the floor was wet in front of it. The elevators were slow, and half the time the buttons did not work. The manager admitted to having problems with the housekeeping, yet continues to use a temp agency. This is not fair to those who work up front, who have apparently raised their own concerns. The lobby was. hot at all times, and the trash was often full. I would not recommend this hotel due to the security concerns and housekeeping concerns, which appear to be ongoing problems that have not been addressed fully. I do not feel the one-night compensation was adequate for the issues we had. They did not represent what Marriott stands for, nor does the company that runs them.

This hotel has a great location and that’s it. This was a horrible stay but that’s pretty on brand for Courtyard. I used points last minute and regret it. The ice machine was broken and I was put in a handicap accessible room. I will never return to this property

I have stayed here a few times. Came after the remodel - it looks good in the room and much cleaner. The downside - no more shampoo/conditioner/body body wash in the shower. Not even in the request - ran out and got some from Walmart but in all my Marriott stays that is a first.

I stayed two nights at this hotel. The first night was fine, but on the second night I lost my key and the front desk refused to give me a new one, even after I showed my ID and confirmation, and I had paid with my own card. The front desk agent even threatened to call the police and made me wait until the next shift (after 11:20 p.m.) before I could get into my own room. The next employee checked in a few minutes and confirmed that I was a registered guest. I also felt that the poor treatment might have been due to my Latino accent, which raises a concern about possible discriminatory behavior. Because of this experience, I do not recommend this hotel.

Stayed for one night and had a great experience from start to finish. Caleb greeted us immediately with a warm and friendly welcome, which made us feel right at home. The rooms were clean, modern, and very comfortable, and the amenities were impressive. We really loved the hotel’s new look. The location is excellent. We had dinner in downtown Charleston and the drive back was quick and easy. It is also very convenient if you are flying in or out of the airport. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

If your not from the area, or never been. Which describes us. This isn’t the “nicest” part of town. Anyways, Hotel has the “looks new but with the cheapest possible new items” vibe. They messed up our rooms on multiple instances. First, they put us in the wrong room and on the second night they locked us out of our rooms. We found a hair tie left in our shower, which makes me believe it wasn’t fully cleaned. The elevator was broken and felt like it was going to break every time we used it. The ice machine was partially broken/fixed, with parts laying on the floor. Also be aware you are sharing a microwave with the entire floor. They no longer are provided in each room. All information was passed on, and Jeff Sargent contacted me asking how he could “regain our confidence”, funny thing is he never responded back to make up for the bad experience.
