The Hyatt House Charleston - Historic District consistently receives positive feedback for its excellent location in the heart of the historic district and friendly, attentive staff. Fantastic location and a beautiful, clean hotel. Love the suite style rooms. Every staff member we encountered—from valet to front desk, housekeeping, and dining—was incredibly kind, welcoming and above and beyond helpful! The customer service truly blew us away. We hosted a conference here and stayed overnight, and the experience exceeded expectations. We would absolutely do it again!
We stayed at this hotel for a conference and I have nothing but good to say! The staff was attentive and went above and beyond to ensure the best stay possible. The rooms were spacious and well cared for.
We stayed four nights over New Year’s Eve with our family and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the location in the Historic District is super convenient for walking to restaurants and attractions. The kids enjoyed the pool, though the water was a bit cold. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Our family loved this spot. The location is great for parking when you arrive and not taking your car out again until you leave. There are a ton of shops and restaurants around. Check in was quick, our room was lovely, and it has an indoor pool for the kids to get out their wiggles. We were disappointed with the Pour Restaurant but enjoyed breakfast. There is an attached but unaffiliated restaurant called MESU that was delightful and gives a discount to Hyatt customers.
Stayed here with my family and we loved the place. Rooms were clean. The customer service was amazing and we got to go to blum coffee and wine bar on meeting street, which was a quick you were right away. And have the time of our lives there. we went at night for the wine bar and the beer bar and it was just amazing. There's also restaurants close by as well.
Except for the location and breakfast, everything else was… well, “character-building.” Room at the Hyatt Place was dusty, bathroom had some mold doing its own renovation, and our sheets came with bonus hair. When we asked for fresh ones, we were told housekeeping was off-duty — so we got extra sheets and ran our own mini housekeeping service. ????? Overall: decent location, good breakfast, but the stay itself was just average. Would’ve loved a little less dust and a little more “Hyatt.”
This visit I stayed on the newly renovated Hyatt House side of the hotel. I loved the design of the room the use of the space was so functional while offering private areas. One of my favorite features was the luggage dresser. It was so nice to have a designated place to get my suitcase unpacked and out of the way. Shower pressure and temp was great. My AC worked wonderful and I appreciate that it wasn’t on a motion sensor that would turn off in the night. The gym is pretty modest with older equipment but they still had a peloton & decent variety of machines. I skipped breakfast so I cannot comment on that. The only thing that frustrates me is that hotel guests don’t get a discounted parking rate at the city garage connected to the property. Getting in and out of this hotel can be a little stressful especially if you’re driving a larger vehicle. It’s a pretty tight space to maneuver. Aim to check in a little early or late to avoid the chaos. I arrived right at check in time and the parking area in front was packed. You have to squeeze past other vehicles by literal inches. However that’s par for the course in a historic city. This will continue to be my go to hotel for future visits.
The location of this hotel is great, and the employees are awesome. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations so a few things are being worked on. I had a few issues with the room I stayed in, but instead of being frustrated with my stay, when I contacted the front desk, they immediately responded, and housekeeping staff, Patrick and Ali, made sure I had everything I needed. I even had a follow-up call from their services director, Teena, to ask if there was anything else I could use to make my stay more comfortable! These employees are great, the hotel is great and I look forward to my next stay here! P.S. Try the smash burger at their rooftop restaurant, the Pour Taproom.

Hotel was very nice. Front desk supervisor was rude claiming no responsibility for the condition our car was returned in. It was covered in construction dust. Could barely see out the windows. Paid 50 dollars a night. Was told that the vallet company has nothing to do with Hyatt even though they wear Hyatt shirts and the sign says Hyatt Vallet
