Stayed here a few times in the off season for a little staycation. It’s a great location. It’s definitely an older hotel but it’s been renovated and they’ve done some decent upkeep on it. Rooms are decent. Nothing super fancy but exactly what you need for just spending the night and sleeping there. The hotel itself has a nice bar inside and outside as well as a restaurant.

Stayed here spur of the moment after I extended my New Orleans trip. My room was fantastic, with the best view of the ocean and pier. I booked a few days out and only paid $133 all in. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Truly loved this hotel. Our view of the beach and folly were both equally beautiful. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful! The room was very clean and bathrooms were really nice. Water pressure needs a little help but would definitely be back here!

Loved this hotel, perfect spot! Everyone was so friendly. They were under going construction in January, once that done it’ll be a better stay. The only thing I didn’t care for was how loud they played the music by the pool even when no one was out there. My room was right above the pool for the ocean view and it kills the vibe of trying to listen to the waves in the afternoon or evening. Other than that, I’d recommend. It would be great id that was dialed down a notch or limited to hour blocks or something.

Overall great, all rooms have ocean views with small accessible balconies but hotel is showing its age. The beds and pillows are soft (for those who perfer firm), and could use more sheets or additional comforter (cold in January for just sheet and thin cover). Heater unit starts making odd noises overnight. Staff are incredibly nice and helpful, water pressure is great with very hot water. Pool is nice and heated (no hot tub though unfortunately). Lots of good tv channels with some premium (showtime, hbo) and ones for kids (disney, cartoon network). Fridge in room. Wifi works fine but is unprotected (no password). Quiet snd not busy (in january)

First the good: Amazing view of the ocean. Perfect walkable location to all of the wonderful town, restaurants and activities. The service from the front desk and every employee we met was outstanding and kind. Now for the not so good: The hotel is currently undergoing renovations which is definitely a value for the future. However, management is doing a poor job planning the work around the hotel guests. At 8am, while I was enjoying the beautiful view from my room, we heard very loud hammering just above our heads. When we called the front desk we were told they are doing construction in the bathroom just above us. The hotel was not full, why were we placed in a room just below active construction. The moment we entered our room we heard drilling and the person bringing in our bags told me all the guests are complaining about the construction. Then to make matters worse... We had no hot water for showers. The maintenance person said he had to go turn back on a valve because it was shut off by mistake, during construction. After he turned back on the valve, water was almost warm enough, but not quite. All of these problems added up to a very frustrating stay. Once renovations are complete, I would return and assume they would earn five stars. Management: PLEASE do not place your guest right next to active renovations!

Highly recommend staying here ! The staff is awesome! Rooms are nice and clean! Bed and pillows are comfy! And the view is breathtaking! Hands down the best hotel experience I've ever had. And they serve Starbucks coffee that's better than Starbucks! Love everything about staying here, Got to check off seeing the sunrise on the beach as well. We'll definitely be back ? Huge shout out to them ??

Our group recently held a corporate meeting at Tides of Folly Beach, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The team was wonderful to work with—responsive, accommodating, and quick to resolve even a small mix-up with professionalism and care. We utilized the hotel’s meeting spaces, catering, and AV setup, all of which worked seamlessly for our sessions. Outside of meetings, everyone had an amazing time enjoying the beach and local dining—such a perfect balance of productivity and fun. Truly an outstanding staff and setting for a corporate group. We’d be happy to return!

I am Overall highly satisfied with my stay at this hotel. From the valets to the welcome desk, staff were very friendly and personable. Everyone greeted us. They even let me pick which floor i wanted to stay on which has never happened when Ive booked through a third party before. They had me a microwave brought up right away upon request and the cleaning services did a great job too. Location is perfect and adjacent to everything and i cant want to go back soon to stay at The Tides.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Tides in Folly Beach from September 30 – October 2. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and cared for. A special thanks to the guys out front that greeted us as we arrived, and the front desk team, whose excellent customer service went above and beyond our expectations. The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and perfectly located right on the beach with great shopping and restaurants right outside the door. The ocean views from our room were awesome, and the entire atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. Every interaction with staff was professional, friendly, and attentive. I love that they knew me by name and greeted me every time they saw me. We left refreshed and impressed, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. I highly recommend The Tides for anyone seeking a beach getaway with exceptional service and unbeatable views with everything you need in walking distance. Kudos to everyone there for a great job.
