The Sweetgrass Inn consistently receives mixed reviews, highlighting its charming village-like atmosphere and excellent amenities but also raising concerns about cleanliness, noise levels, and occasional management issues. While many guests praise the friendly staff and convenient location, others experienced problems such as insect infestations and disruptive events.

Our daughter's wedding was held there recently. Unfortunately, some guests were not aware, and started complaining about the DJ noise. A very rude manager who looked like Bobby Bones came up and told my daughter that she must end the reception 45 minutes early. My daughter was in tears. The resort should have notified guests. Quiet hours on weekends end at 11 pm, not 10:15! If you want to accommodate sleeping babies, then don’t have events with music and alcohol. The resort is overpriced anyway. Not to mention, one of the bartenders was a jerk. I’m disappointed in the management. Our food and servers were very nice! Go to Orange Beach! Much prettier and friendly.

Overall, we had a positive experience and service was excellent. However, there were issues with cleanliness and noise that really detracted from our trip. First the positives, the hotel is beautiful. We have a basic "Marsh View" room in Sweetgrass. The decor is basic, but cute. All the staff was quite friendly and helpful. It was easy to access the beach and the range of food options within Wild Dunes was adequate. I liked the kids pool area, there was a small splash pad and zero entry that was very welcoming for young children. A lot of seating, but so many ants and other insects over everything. However, cleanliness was a real problem in the room. When we arrived there were straight dark hairs ON the lid of the toilet seat...YUCK!! I also noted dark sand on the floor of the shower even after it was "cleaned", although our family had not been to the beach yet. I later noted that it is impossible to wash all the sand down the drain because of the way the shower floor is angled. Again...YUCK!! There were also safety issues, our balcony door would not lock and this is concerning with a toddler present. The noise from the lot outside our door was disruptive even on the 4th floor. There was also a wedding on Saturday night, you could hear the music pulsating through the walls and it kept our child awake despite the white noise machine. The beach was typical East Coast with dark sand and silty water, but we still had fun. It was quite expensive to rent covers/umbrellas so will bring our Shibumi if we return. I don't feel like I got my money's worth.

My stay at Sweetgrass Inn was nothing short of exceptional. I arrived several hours before check-in, and the hotel representative went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Not only was she able to get me checked into my room early, but she also took the time to explain the resort amenities and personally walked me outside to give me a quick tour and point me in the right direction. I travel frequently for work, and this level of hospitality and genuine care is rare. My room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully appointed. As this was a work trip, my only disappointment was not having a balcony, as I would have loved to work while enjoying the warm ocean breeze. However, that may have been an oversight when I booked, so I certainly can't hold it against the resort. What truly sets Sweetgrass Inn apart is the incredible atmosphere. Step outside your building and you're transported into a charming village complete with restaurants, a pizza shop, ice cream store, art gallery, boutique shopping, salon, and more. There is so much to do beyond golf, making it perfect for travelers who enjoy staying active and exploring during their vacation. The resort offers multiple pools and dining options, ensuring there's something for everyone. On my first day, I grabbed lunch from the adorable taco truck by the pool. These were not your typical food truck tacos, they were some of the best I've ever had. The gentleman and young woman working there were friendly, engaging, and genuinely delightful to chat with. While sitting at the picnic table enjoying my lunch, a random staff member stopped to ask how I was doing, how my stay was and if they could get me anything. Again, above and beyond. The beach is only about a five-minute walk away, but the journey itself is part of the experience. The beautifully designed property kept my attention the entire way, with stunning architecture and scenery that had me dreaming about winning the lottery and moving there permanently. Once I reached the beachside burger spot, I enjoyed a relaxing while watching the waves roll in, sipping ice water, and chatting with the manager. It perfectly captured the laid-back, welcoming spirit of the resort. I was also attending a work conference during my stay, and the conference facilities were fantastic, beautiful, well-maintained, and professionally managed. Overall, this was a 10 out of 10 experience. Sweetgrass Inn delivers outstanding service, exceptional amenities, wonderful dining, beautiful surroundings, and plenty of activities all within the resort. I would highly recommend it to families, conference attendees, and vacationers looking for a destination where they can truly have it all without ever needing to leave the property. I wish I had taken more picture to be able to share, but they just don’t do this place justice.

We stayed at Hyatt Wild Dunes Seagrass in a premium double queen room, and it was absolutely amazing! While our view was of the parking lot/entry area, that seemed to be a booking mix-up on my part — the room itself was premium, just not a premium view. Aside from that, everything was truly top notch. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and clean, the pool area was fantastic, and the overall resort atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. The food was great, and the location was perfect — close to so many things, including various tourist tours and activities within a 20-30 minute drive. The service was honestly some of the best customer service we’ve experienced. Everyone we interacted with was so kind, helpful, and accommodating, which made the stay feel extra special. From the pool to the food, the staff, and the overall experience, Hyatt Wild Dunes Seagrass exceeded our expectations. We definitely plan to come back and would highly recommend it!

I had the most amazing time here. Was here for a work trip, but will definitely come back for a family vacation. The staff treats you like royalty. Like you are a star. The grounds are just too gorgeous to try and describe. Beautiful flowers everywhere, cute buildings, plenty of pools and the beachfront area is fabulous. The only negative thing to critique is my Uber dropped me off at the main building (sweergrass inn). However I was actually staying down the road at the boardwalk inn. The walk was fine going by all the shops, restaurants and fountain. However there was a stretch of walkway that was loose gravel. It was extremely difficult to take my luggage through there and I accidentally fell at the end. I would recommend taking guests when they first arrive on a golf cart. Overall I had life time memories made there and will always cherish them. I cant wait to go back.

Good resort, but quite overpriced. The interior is nice and feels like a small private town, with everything you need: restaurants, bars, pools, and more. However, there isn’t much of interest within walking distance outside the resort, aside from expensive houses. Keep in mind that it can take a long time to get an Uber or Lyft to go out. A ride to downtown Charleston can cost $60–$70 and may take a 30–40 minute wait, so it’s best to book in advance. On the other hand, rides from downtown Charleston to the resort typically cost $25–$30.

Cool resort with lots of activities in walking distance. Gym has lots of equipment (treadmills, bikes, TRX, free weights). Coffee is available in lobby. Short walk to the beach with exceptional ocean views. Recommend splurging on a massage at the Spa, I got 2 and both probably were best massages I’ve ever gotten. Overall great place for some R&R.

Went for a long weekend. The lamp on left side of the bed did not work and the rooms had no ceiling lights. We love to have a sweet treat on vacation but their “sweet shop” was lacking. The ice cream was so freezer burnt it changed colors as she scooped. I also tried ordering a hot fudge sundae and she said they had no hot fudge. We did come on the off season but thought they’d still stock their stores. The hotel was nice in refunding for the ice cream, however the few bites I did have made me feel ill. The hot tub felt like a heated pool. I requested for the temperature to be increased politely on their messaging system and they said they’d let the engineer know, I went back two days later and it was the same. I personally stayed at this hotel for the hot tub as most places did not have one. The overall vibe of the hotel was nice, I just think quality and attention to detail need to be worked on.

Just had an amazing time celebrating our first anniversary here. Thanks for all your help Joe at the front desk and Shannon at the concierge to make this happen! Dinner and breakfast at coastal provision was top notch.

This is the second time we stayed at the Sweet Grass Inn! We were there this past weekend for my 17th year wedding anniversary and everything was perfect!! The room 533 was ocean facing, modern with coastal vibes and so clean. The bathroom has the detachable shower head and was also very clean and updated. We love it there and can’t wait to go back with our family! It’s so close to Charleston and other areas you may want to visit!
