Attended a convention here. Cannot judge the rooms as we did not stay here. However the banquet and meeting rooms were great. The staff were superb. Always friendly and very helpful to make sure we had a great experience.
Not what we expected. When ad says bar an restaurant we didn't expect a small bar attached to Starbucks an that's also the kitchen area . No free breakfast bar or anything ? so we won't be back . Oh yeah room had a small kitchenette that consisted of a sink small refrigerator microwave an coffee pot. No dishes silverware or stove. What the heck ? unbelievable ?
It's a nice hotel, reasonably priced, and offers great service. If you are looking for a place right outside of Charleston that won't break the bank or disappoint, this may be your go-to place. Very close to a lot of amenities as well.
We stayed at the Homewood Suites in Summerville for 1 week (business trip), went home for the weekend, and then came back for another week. The first week, we stayed in a King studio that had a bad thermostat. I contacted the front desk the next morning and they sent maintenance up right away. It only took a few minutes for them to change the thermostat and then the A/C worked great. The maintenance guys were nice and polite. On the second day, we determined that we needed a second chair at the dining table so we could sit down and eat dinner together and it was brought up fairly quickly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay so much that we reserved a room for the next week, as well. That room is a King bedroom suite with plenty of room, cold A/C, and two dining chairs. So far, so good, on our second week. During both visits, we have noticed and experienced friendly staff, nice atmosphere in the downstairs lobby/bar area, clean room & hallways, a gorgeous pool and plenty of free parking! There is also a walking path/sidewalk loop in the area that can be accessed from the hotel parking lot.
This is my second time staying within the past year. During our May 2024, my family and I walked into a dirty room. The room reeked of leftovers, and there was a trash bag left outside of our door. I went downstairs, showed them picture, and they provided us with another room. During my current stay (literally as I type), I walk in and I see a dirty wall, spots that look like mold on the ceiling, spots on the cloth around the frame of the bed, and a “weathered” shower. It just gives dingy! We’ve traveled to multiple places this summer, and this by far is the worst of them all. As a Hilton Reward Member, I am beyond dissatisfied. We won’t be coming back to this location.
Rooms were very clean, filled with necessities for eating/cooking, and AC worked great. Beds were comfy and the extra blankets and pillows in the closet smelled fresh. The pool was wonderful and the fact that they use wristbands makes it nice to know there are no random outsiders. Breakfast was great and the staff was very attentive. Ms Ana at the front desk was very kind and helpful! Traffic in the local area is busy but that’s Charleston for ya!
There was a dog barking next door during the afternoon until around 11:20PM. We called to complain after 10 and it continued. I have recordings of the dog barking. I requested a call back about our stay and have not received a call back or correspondence in reference to our stay. We have stayed here in the past and had a good experience but it is disappointing that this problem was not addressed.
Though I have only experienced two visits, this Homewood Suites is one of my favorite locations! From start to finish, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The contemporary rooms are very comfortable, nice, and clean. I always love seeing my name on the TV welcoming me when I walk in. I do want to give special recognition out to Lucy. She checked us in with such a warm and inviting demeanor that my husband and I felt like we were truly home. I was so pleased with her excellent member service that I would take the 6.5 hour drive from Hampton VA to receive that type of service again. Please give her a Service Kudos or incentive to encourage the 5 star effort she provides.
The property is beautiful and very well maintained. Customer service was exceptional. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. From check-in to departure everything was awesome. I would like to give a special thanks to the front desk attendant named July but her birthday is in March. She was very knowledgeable about the property and made our check in process memorable. Kudos to the Front Office Management team. Every attendant greeted us with a smile and was eager to help. We will be back!!!
