This Homewood Suites by Hilton Charleston Historic District consistently receives positive feedback, particularly regarding its friendly and helpful staff. Guests appreciate the spacious rooms, convenient location near King Street and a comfortable breakfast. However, recent reviews highlight occasional issues with room cleanliness and pet noise.
Went to this location to stay for a wedding with a wedding party - which was booked months in advance. come to find out while we were checking in, the booking had been cancelled. not only for my fiance and i, but the entire wedding party had to deal with this issue. i believe they do this to charge guests more for a room same-day. the room felt outdated and did not feel clean. the only good thing about the hotel, was that it was walking distance to shops and bars. overall, i do not recommend anyone staying here.
Im a travel advisor and I booked this hotel for a collegiate lacrosse team for a busy weekend in March. The entire sales team was so helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond on communication. The team had a great stay, they were located near king street and would absolutely return in the future. Bus parking can be obtained through the city nearby and the hotel will make sure you have all the details you need to get your permit for this. It’s just $14.
Very nice rooms with full kitchen and area to set up computer for work. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom has separate shower/toilet area from sink/mirror area. Location is great for being able to walk to restaurants. Valet parking as well as nearby meter parking
Great experience here. Rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet was well-stocked and Geraldine anticipated customers' needs and kept an eye on everything. She was incredible. Jacob and Ashley at the front desk also provided great customer service. Vandike with engineering had a smile on his face and greeted me warmly. This hotel is full of wonderful people.
We had an excellent stay. The staff was incredibly helpful! A huge thank you to Ashley, Jacob, Rocky, the gentleman who brought our car up today (1/6) to load it, and the young lady at the front desk in the evening of 1/5 were all so welcoming, informative and went above and beyond. The staff at breakfast were also very friendly. The rooms were huge and clean. It was so close to King Street, the Charleston museum, about a 20 minute walk from the battery and rainbow row. We would definitely stay there again.
This hotel was well laid out with great common areas. Our room was spacious - it was a double queen with sofa so kids didn't have to share a bed and had a little kitchenette. It was walking distance to alot of places and about a mile from the famous market. You do need to valet a car but we prepaid for it in our package. I'd stay here again.
Our stay was excellent from start to finish. We were in town for a wedding, and this hotel was the perfect place to stay. What really made the difference was the staff. Raymond and Zhane deserve special recognition for their outstanding service. They were helpful, professional, and genuinely made us feel valued as guests. Thanks to them, our stay was smooth and enjoyable. We would gladly return.
We had a wonderful stay! The hotel was very clean which made us feel comfortable right away. The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout our visit. A special thank you to Raymond and Zhane for going above and beyond to assist us and make our stay even better. Their professionalism and kindness truly stood out. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.
My family and I stayed in this hotel and we really couldn't ask for more. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are clean and the location is superb. there's restaurants nearby and for a nightcap. We definitely went to 1 of the best wine bars we all thought which was blum coffee and wine bar on meeting street in downtown. They offered their own private parking lot. However, it was full, so we just parked nearby. The best bottle of wine prices in the entire downtown area. Also, wine by the glass was very inexpensive. As well and just high quality altogether. the next morning, we stopped by for their coffee since they open at seven a m.And their gingerbread cappuccino was just amazing. We loved homewood suites by hilton and how convenient everything around was.
I was a little nervous about the recent negative reviews, but we had a great stay! All staff members we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. They have water and coffee available all day, which is a nice touch. The gym and pool were clean, though they need to purchase more umbrellas for the pool area. There was one total umbrella for the whole pool, and the sun is brutal. Breakfast was delicious, hot and had a great variety every morning. I’d recommend going to the Wednesday evening social early, as we got there at 5:20 and all do the snacks were pretty much gone (it’s advertised to run from 5 PM- 7 PM.) It is a bit of a walk to the waterfront/shopping (1-1.5 miles) but there are free shuttles that will pick you up on either King/Meeting street.
