The Fulton Lane Inn consistently receives high praise for its prime location in the heart of Charleston’s historic district, offering easy access to attractions and dining. Guests frequently highlight the friendly and attentive staff, delicious complimentary breakfast service, and charming atmosphere. While parking can be a minor inconvenience and a few reviews mention occasional noise concerns, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at for service! I was super sick when I arrived in Charleston. I had a horrible cough, body aches, that moved into bronchitis and I was traveling alone. The staff went above and beyond for me to help me. I recovered only because they were so attentive and kind. They brought me hot water, made sure I still ate and really did everything to make my stay amazing. I would highly recommend this place! It’s also in the absolute center of everything.
We stayed here for three nights on our first visit to Charleston. It was a perfect location for exploring the historic district of this charming town! Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The beds were comfortable (a little on the firm side) and the room was incredibly quiet, even though it overlooked King Street. The bathroom was large and well appointed, with a nice shower. It was such a treat to fill out a breakfast menu each night and have a delicious tray of food delivered the next morning! The front desk staff was welcoming and always willing to give us recommendations for restaurants and site-seeing, which we followed. The wine reception at the sister hotel next door, and the sherry in the lobby each night, was a nice touch. The only downside (and it was not a huge issue) was having to pay $35/night for parking in a garage which was a little ways away, but the in-and-out privileges made it worth it. Overall, we would highly recommend the Fulton Lane Inn, and we look forward to our next visit!
The Fulton Lane Inn is located in the heart of Charleston, a short walk to all the sights and sounds of the city. The rooms are beautiful and service is outstanding ( the stay includes delicious daily breakfasts). Everyone on the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (especially Morgan and Abigail) . Thank you for an unforgettable experience! We highly recommend.
My sister and I stayed here a few weeks ago and had an amazing time! This inn is located in the perfect spot on King Street. It's less than 5 minutes to the City Market where we spent a lot of time. There are lots of cute shops nearby on King St...a few faves were Grit & Grace Studio and Sweeter Than Fiction bookshop. Target is half a block away for any necessities. And it's an easy walk up and down King St for shopping and eating. It was so easy to pop into our room for a quick rest or to drop off some bags during the day. The room was so clean and cozy. Super comfy beds. Great toiletries. Loved having a sound machine as well. There's also a water-filling station near the ice machine The breakfast service was such a nice touch. Bread and pastries always arrived warm. Lower-carb options were Greek yogurt or a hard boiled egg. The service was great too! Everyone was friendly and kind. We loved Abby so much! She always had a smile and was so helpful. Yes, lodging near King Street is always going to be pricey but this is the best place to stay that isn't overly expensive. It's clean, conveniently located, charming, and has great service. What more could you ask for? I would definitely stay here again!
I absolutely loved this inn — the best place to stay in Charleston! The location can’t be beat, and the inn itself is so charming and really enhanced my stay in the city. It’s close to everything, very walkable, and the rooms were comfortable and had everything I needed and more. One of my favorite perks was the customizable complimentary breakfast delivered right to my room every morning — I didn’t even realize how much I would love that touch! The staff was incredibly friendly, and I had an amazing stay from start to finish. Highly recommend!
I only spent one night at the Fulton Lane Inn, but it was a cozy one! I did appreciate the emails for pre-check-in and pre-check-out; of note, it was nice that I could inform the staff of my anticipated check-in time via a list of times with a radio button. When making a reservation, I was not looking for a specific room type, more "I cannot spend "X" amount of money on a room for this night, what is available?" ? I happened to receive a bed with two queen beds in a room that was HUGE for one person! Do you see me complaining? The entire suite was about the size of a typical NYC studio apartment, which was more than enough for one person's single night stay. I appreciated the many amenities in the room; ample plugs, a white noise machine (which was utilized for a restful night's sleep), and the two showerheads in the shower (which I glean was handicap-accessible) allowed me for one of the best hotel showers I've ever had, ha! My only complaint - subjective, of course - was that the TV was relatively small. I only state that for vision reasons; I can appreciate keeping a smaller TV stored way in a cabinet to fit the aesthetic of the inn, just be aware if you too need a bigger screen to watch TV comfortably. I did appreciate the large array of TV channels after a long day roaming Charleston, because I was ready to crash and snuggle into bed. I appreciated the complementary morning breakfast. I didn't need much, but by selecting a time + food choices the night before, I was able to wake up to a meal at my door that was actually *hot* and delicious. Daylon and the rest of the staff I encountered were beyond lovely, very personable. The evening sherry was a welcoming touch, and their help with checking in, checking out, and storing my luggage post-check-out to enjoy my final day in Charleston was excellent. I was in good hands. My stay was truly charming, I would recommend visiting the Fulton Lane Inn.
Great historic Hotel/Bed n Breakfast right downtown on the main road King Street. They also have parking available which is an issue in Charleston. Everyone that worked there was great, room was clean and well kept. You can walk anywhere from the hotel and they help you as much as they can.. Food is varied and good, city history is very interesting and it has a lot of youth and great restaurants. I highly recommend, would definitely stay there again
Our stay at Fulton Lane Inn was fantastic. The morning breakfast delivered to the room was a perfect way to start the day. The room was clean and comfortable and all of the workers we encountered from the front desk to the hallways were friendly and accommodating. The location is perfect right off of King St so everything we wanted to do and see in the heart of Charleston was within walking distance. Will definitely stay here again if/when we return.
It was a bit of a challenge to unload and load, especially as the Inn would not answer the phone to answer our question about that. So we parked on the street and went in to find out only to be kept waiting while the staff person stayed on the phone. But the room was spacious and very clean. Bed very comfortable and the delivered breakfast was stellar. It’s very walkable to a lot of restaurants, shopping and activities.
Just a lovely place and value for the money. Lovely touches like sherry in the evening and genuinely kind and helpful front-desk staff. A beautiful place in good repair, comfy, well appointed beds. Luxury at a reasonable price in the French Quarter.
