Perfect for both business and leisure travelers, the hotel provides comfort and value in a central location.
Guests frequently praise the friendly and helpful staff, particularly the front desk team and the General Manager, Kelly. While the hotel offers a comfortable stay and decent value, recurring issues with cleanliness, inconsistent hot water, and concerning location conditions have been noted. Recent renovations are not uniformly appreciated, with some reviewers citing dated facilities and safety concerns.
This hotel had the best front desk workers ever. I can’t remember the managers name but she treated my brother and I like we were her own when there was troubles with our reservations per USAA. Her cousin as well was always so much help and incredibly friendly. The workers here have genuine care for their costumers! The rooms were great and the hotel was near so many restaurants with only a 20 minute drive to Charleston. When we visit Charleston we will definitely be staying here again. Thanks again for all your help!
The water in the shower was reversed, so at first no hot water, had to warn my daughter. The rooms are nice, the walls are kind of thin.
Pros: the people at the front desk are friendly, beds and pillows are comfortable, rooms are clean, reasonably priced. Internet was good and always accessible. Cons: poor sound proofing, can hear everything from the next room and the hallways. Ran out of hot water for showering on both the Friday night and the Saturday morning. We did not try the breakfast. For the price we paid (~$100 a night) it was a good value with the included breakfast. But I would personally pay a little extra and stay elsewhere next time in the area.
Got in late for a work trip. Fire alarm went off three times, hotel staff knocked on the door and called the room even though I requested a late checkout. The is by far the worse Marriott I've been to, and I will never return.
This place looks nice when you walk in, but the service & cleanliness is awful. Our room had dirty shower walls, the door didnt shut all the way, the milk being served at breakfast was past the expiration date. We had no hot water & the mattress was not only a queen aize on a king frame, it was so hard I couldn't sleep due to it being sunken in the middle & feeling like we were laying on plywood board. This place is nothing like what we are used to from a Marriott Bonvoy hotel. It is more like a Red Roof Inn.
This hotel is in poor condition. It's advertised as "newly renovated" and it is not. The hotel looks and smells dated. There are tiles missing in the bathroom, popcorn ceiling, and the location overall is unsafe. This hotel is located right next to an Econo Lodge, and there were loud guests there fighting in the parking lot at 11pm at night. The overnight front desk staff will only speak if you do. Overall, this was a very poor hotel stay, and I would not recommend it for a family, especially for the room rate. My family and I are military and travel all the time. Spend your money elsewhere.
This has been the absolute best customer service and the kindest staff at any hotel I've ever stayed at. They have been so willing to help the guests and me out with anything that they are able to. I don't know everyone's name but from the managers to the cleaning ladies, front desk is amazing!!!! Renee, Erica, Tray, Lawrence, Ari, Kelly, are Awesome!!! The breakfast is outstanding because of Faith not only can she cook, but she is very kind and helpful all the time!!! Staying here with this amazing group of people, I promise you will not be dissapointed! Thank you!!
I had stayed at this location before, so I was shocked at this experience. As far as the room...the first time I sat on the bed it flipped up, and I landed in the floor. The box springs was not attached to the base, and it was sitting crooked. So, I had to maneuver the bed before it was safe to use. Also, the lamp flicker constantly when turned on, even after I checked to make sure it was fully plugged in. A great way to cause a seizure. Needless to say, the main lamp between the beds could not be used. The Location...there were MANY homeless persons, some were drug users, around the hotel, sitting right outside the door, and walking around the premise. And yes, I can verify the drug use because I came in contact with the ones who wanted to tell me about their current drug use like they were bragging. I might also mention that the area was visited by the local police force many man times in the two days I stay there. Needless to say, that will be my last stay at this establishment.
I don't know why this is only a 2 star hotel because it is a very nicely maintained hotel. My sister and I traveled to Charleston to visit our brother. After the hotel we initially had reservations was found to be a horrible and unsafe place to stay the General Manager, Kelly welcomed us to her hotel on 6/19/25 setting us up with a room for the night even though the hotel was booked and we had no reservations. She couldn't confirm another night for us until the next morning. When we checked with her the next morning she had 1 room at $269 - which was way out of our price range. She came down to approximately $220, which although was a big discount was still out of our range, but after talking with us she was kind enough to give us the same rate on 6/20/25 as she did on 6/19/25. Kelly was so friendly, and so was her clerk that worked the evening shift - I am sorry I cannot recall her name, but she was funny and treated us like she had known us for years. The hotel was extremely clean and quiet, the king size bed was very comfortable, the television had plenty of channels to watch, the breakfast bar was phenomenal and we felt safe at the hotel. This hotel honestly should be 4 stars out of 5, at least. I would highly recommend them and will stay there again when we return. I am not being paid for this review - it is an honest review of our experience and they deserve honest recognition. The reason I didn't give 4 stars for the location has nothing to do with this property, but because of the property across the street from it. This property felt safe and was clean inside/out. Thank you Kelly - it was a great experience staying at your hotel.
So the room was fine, not great, bed was kind of hard. The staff was actually very friendly and accommodating. The location isn’t the best. I prayed that I wouldn’t wake up with a busted window for the 2 days that I was there. As we pulled in there was a homeless person and their 2 shopping carts sitting across the street but directly in front of the hotel. The Sleep Inn across the street has boarded up windows and people standing in the parking from early afternoon into the late hours of the night. Really sketchy - we had no problems but it looks like the potential is certainly there.
