The Embassy Suites by Hilton Charleston Harbor Mount Pleasant offers a beautiful and family-friendly experience with stunning harbor views and a thoughtfully designed suite layout. Guests consistently praise the exceptional service, delicious complimentary breakfast, and convenient location near attractions and amenities, though some note parking costs and occasional room maintenance issues.
After a disappointing start to our vacation at another coastal resort, checking into Embassy Suites by Hilton Mount Pleasant Charleston Harbor felt like a breath of fresh air. From the moment we arrived, the difference was obvious. The property is beautiful, clean, well-maintained, and exactly what you’d expect from a Hilton property. The lobby is stunning, the grounds are immaculate, and the harbor views are absolutely breathtaking. As a family traveling with young children, we especially appreciated how thoughtfully designed and family-friendly the suites were. Unlike our previous hotel, our stroller easily fit through the entryway, bathroom area, bedroom, and living room without issue. We didn’t have to fold it up every time we moved around the suite, which made traveling with a toddler so much easier. Parents of young children will understand how much of a difference that makes. The front desk staff was an absolute delight. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy to help. At one point, I called and requested extra pillows. Somehow, the pillows made it to our room before we did. After spending part of our vacation chasing down housekeeping and waiting on unanswered phones elsewhere, this level of service felt almost magical. It’s clear the staff here truly care about their guests and take pride in what they do. The complimentary breakfast deserves its own review. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels where “free breakfast” meant stale pastries, powdered eggs, and lukewarm coffee. This was the complete opposite. The made-to-order omelet station was amazing and easily one of the highlights of our stay. The bacon was perfectly crispy, the coffee was actually hot, and the fruit was fresh, ripe, and sweet. Everything tasted like it had been prepared with care rather than simply set out to check a box. There were so many options that everyone in our family found something they loved. Honestly, it didn’t feel like a complimentary hotel breakfast—it felt like dining at a quality restaurant every morning. The pool area was another standout. The pool was clean, well-maintained, and never felt neglected. One thing I immediately noticed was that there were always plenty of clean towels available poolside. We never had to hunt down staff or wait for towels to be restocked. Little details like that made the entire stay feel effortless and relaxing. The location was perfect for our family. Within walking distance, there was a splash pad and playground that my children absolutely loved, making it easy to entertain them without constantly getting back in the car. There was also a fishing pier nearby, which my husband enjoyed. It truly felt like there was something for everyone. What impressed me most was that everything simply worked. The hotel was clean, organized, responsive, and professionally managed. The common areas were spotless, the elevators were clean and spacious, and every interaction with staff was pleasant. Sometimes luxury isn’t fancy decorations or expensive amenities—it’s staying somewhere that is clean, comfortable, functional, and run by people who genuinely care about the guest experience. The biggest compliment I can give Embassy Suites Mount Pleasant Charleston Harbor is that I genuinely didn’t want to leave. After a rough start to our trip, this hotel completely changed the experience for our family. Between the beautiful harbor views, spacious suite, incredible breakfast, clean pool, amazing staff, splash pad and playground for the kids, and fishing pier for my husband, this felt less like a hotel stay and more like a place where we could truly relax and enjoy our time together. When checkout morning arrived, none of us were ready to go home. That’s how you know you’ve found a special place. We will absolutely be back for another stay—and honestly, probably sooner than we should. Embassy Suites Mount Pleasant Charleston Harbor earned a returning family, and we can’t wait to come back.
Beautiful hotel with a great location and views. Rooms are decorated nicely and very clean. We loved the breakfast and was always greeted by Tommie and she was fantastic. Such a pleasant spirit and smiling face! Love seeing and meeting staff like this. Definitely will be back and highly recommend. 5 Stars!
This is an absolutely beautiful hotel new about 4 years. Walking into the large two-story foyer puts you right into low country southern charm and deco. Beautiful neutral tones and colors just very very nice beautiful chandelier in the entrance. Staff was super friendly and inviting made you feel like a valued guest. The room was standard for embassy suites on the newer side. It's not like the old atrium style embassy suites with eight floors high and an open atrium, this is not it This is beautiful. Anyhow, the bedroom was large enough, room 704 does not have a clear view of the bridge due to the building that's right in front of it. And if you look out to your left you'll have to crane your neck but you can see barely, the USS Yorktown at Patriots point. Bar area was inviting and clean, breakfast area also inviting and clean with great staff and good food options. As you would expect any embassy suites to have. Was disappointed that there was not a espresso machine, with this being a newer hotel. I have stayed in other embassy suites where that was present but that's a minor detail.
First, it’s a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. We are lucky to have this hotel here. However, disappointed is an understatement. We made lunch reservations to dine at The Tide on the day of the airshow. We were charged $25 to park. I figured we’d have a nice lunch and get reimbursed for the parking. Don’t quite work out that way. ‘Dining’ was one rock star woman who managed everything from taking a lunch-to-go order (that took well over 1 hr to get a sandwich) to pouring a beer. $75 for parking, 1 incorrectly made sandwich that we had to take and eat elsewhere and 2 beers. I have never seen anything so poorly managed and ill prepared. You hire a security team to make sure you get paid your $25 for parking but no wait staff for dining on a day like today? Absolutely ridiculous. Resident, Hilton Honors members, Friends and Family. Stick with Marriott.
My husband and I just returned from our stay and I must say that everything about this place is classy and beautiful. The rooms are nicely furnished and super clean. The bed and bedding were very comfortable and the pillows were sooo wonderful that I wish I could buy them to use at home too! We never had any issues with noise from neighboring rooms and housekeeping did a fantastic job. If I had any negative comment, it would be that our room was “harbor view” but we could barely see a sliver of it from our third floor window. However, the room itself was so nice that we didn’t seek to make any changes. We did watch the sunset over the harbor from the front lawn, which offers a great view. Throughout our stay, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar offers a wide variety of delicious food and beverages and we also enjoyed the pizza in the evening. The hotel is conveniently located a short distance from downtown. We opted to Uber more often than not due to the lack of parking downtown and because our vehicle was safely parked in the parking deck of the hotel. With cocktail and dining options available as well as access to a variety of snacks and drinks at the shop, you could comfortably opt to stay in rather than go out. I would 100% choose this location again and again.
The Good… Beautiful property, staff and location. The Bad… $32.00 a day for SELF Parking. The Ugly… Inconsistent maid service and room cleaning for 3 out of 4 days and managers who promise but don’t deliver! Too bad for a very nice property!
We love staying at Embassy Suites, this one I love the foyer area & friendly staff but we haven’t received housekeeping and been without bathroom necessaries, have called for towels mutiple times and haven’t received any, so we had to go ask at the front desk. With this nice of hotel I would’ve expected better service. Not sure I’ll be back at this hotel.
The view of the river from the hotel is absolutely amazing and the hotel is very clean and conveniently located with a parking garage or parking under the bridge for free…fyi I also loved the fact that we had a balcony option and the courtyard was too cute!!! There is also a walking trail and easy entrance to the bridge The breakfast is awesome with options and the happy hour bar with Jena and Scott and Ashley the manager was nothing less than amazing. Ohhhhh oh and the POPCORN is to dye for!
The location is excellent—right next to the Ravenel Bridge—and it was easy to get around with a car. However, I was disappointed to find that parking wasn’t free, especially since the property isn’t located in the heart of the city. The staffs I encountered were courteous and quick to respond, and the complimentary breakfast was definitely one of the highlights of my stay. The hotel also offers a free evening reception, but by around 6 p.m., some of the snacks had already run out and were not replenished. Lobby and breakfast area were clean and beautifully maintained. The main downside was the condition of the room, which is starting to show its age. While the space was large, the water pressure—particularly in the toilet—was low. The cabinet doors were loose, the shower faucet and toilet paper holder weren’t properly secured, and the bathroom’s sliding door didn’t fully close. Housekeeping also could have been more thorough, as the bathroom floor wasn’t cleaned during my stay. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again unless the maintenance and cleanliness issues are improved.
Just came back from a weekend trip here, and we had a wonderful stay. The property is modern, fresh, and beautiful. Everything is well-maintained, and every staff member we encountered was helpful and pleasant. (Extra shout-out to the evening front desk clerk who helped me get hand soap that wouldn’t trigger an allergy migraine). The parking deck was easy to manage, and had plenty of parking (Guests checking in can park on the first two levels. Your room key will give you access to the upper levels). $30/day is a little annoying, but pretty much in line for the local hotels of this caliber. The location is perfectly situated for visiting Charleston or the barrier islands with ease. Be sure to check out the waterfront park and pier nearby. It’s a beautiful spot to get pictures of the famous bridge, and has a playground for kids. We ate breakfast both days — the made-to-order omelettes really elevate the hotel breakfast bar experience. If you don’t want to eat on site, there are TONS of great restaurants within a short drive. If I HAD to nit-pick, I’d say that I wish the hotel had more rooms with scenic views. The neighboring office building blocks the bay views for most of the west-facing rooms, which is disappointing. The beds are also a bit firmer than I prefer, but I still slept great. These are minor inconveniences in an overall exemplary stay, though. I would ABSOLUTELY come back to this hotel again.
