The North Charleston Marriott has received mixed reviews, with recent guests praising a newly renovated space, friendly staff, and convenient location. However, recurring issues with room cleanliness, malfunctioning HVAC systems, and a lack of responsiveness from management are evident across several reviews.
I never leave a review regardless and usually keep to myself but room was dirty and beat up. Just some photos attached of water and other miscellaneous damage. was not clean at all and very worn out hotel. photos posted by brand are either highly doctored or extremely old...
I honestly wasnt expecting much from this hotel when I booked it because I just needed a place to stay near the airport. But wow, I was really blown away after visiting. The inside looks brand new and recently remodeled. The room and bed were awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant/bar was great. I would 10/10 recommend this hotel. The Front desk manager was great!
Only complaint was my A/C compressor never turned on and the room stayed at 75F with the Fan On. Besides that great lobby, great club lounge and amazing bar restaurants with impressive Hotel food quality and preparation. Several local beers on tab. My fav was the Pilsner
Spent 4 days (like 24 hours a day for 4 days) here for a conference. The employees here are incredible. Everyone from the cleaning staff to the front desk to the banquet team were all SUCH a pleasure to interact with and so kind. I would highly recommend this hotel. (The rooms are great too!!)
This hotel has been through several changes (names/branding) over the years. It looks like Marriott pulled out all the stops in refurbishing this property to be worthy of the Marriott name. I was please with everything I saw. Great access to I-26.
I found the hotel to be very nice, with modern, high-quality facilities. I loved the buffet for its variety and flavor, and the staff was always very friendly and attentive. The only minor issue was that the bed sheet had stains that were visible in the light, but other than that, everything was excellent. It's definitely a place I recommend
Room was musty and humid and the floor in the bathroom, though newer was badly buckled. I found out why when I took a shower. Door would not stay shut, could not activate the main shower head because the knob was missing, and a majority of the water was coming out of the house connection, not the wand. This is not a new issue, they have chosen to ignore it. Owner spent money on a nice refit, someone is letting them down managing the facility.
Stayed at the Marriott for a wedding and had a phenomenal experience overall. Rooms and corridors were immaculate, plenty of social spaces, and easy to get in and out. The bartender was exceptional and a great host for the hotel. I recommend skipping the breakfast, very very overpriced for the quality and I generally do not mind paying a high price for value. Spend less and get better quality by going to IHOP instead.
No upgrades upon arrival as a platinum. The place was quite empty and barely any cars in the lot. They did have a nice lounge where we hung out and ate snacks available 24/7. Once we entered the room we waited a few hours to let the temperature go down. We finally realized the AC was not working and was making strange banging noises. We called for assistance and as the engineer came and inspected it. The unit was quite filthy and had a few missing screws. After 15 to 20 minutes of tinkering with it. He asked me to check to see if it was cooler. I then proceeded to show him the thermostat which was actually going up in temperature instead of going down. After a few more minutes he said he would have us moved. It was late at this point and some of us were already in our pajamas ready to sleep. Instead, we ended up moving rooms and quite winded since we had a lot of luggages since we were on the road for more than a week. I sent a letter to the manager and never got a response. These units should be checked by sticking a thermostat to see if cold air is blowing. We could hardly sleep after moving from all the physical exertion. No apologies from management. Just another broken equipment. I wanted to post this on Marriott’s site but they only allow that based on random emails.
I enjoyed this hotel and the amenities. The rooms were decent size and modern updated decor. We were always greeted with a smile and helped us with any questions. I'm not a fan of the platform beds, but I slept very well. The location was very close to the outlet, other shopping and food at park circle. Also a short drive downtown. I think the $10 parking fee is unnecessary based on the location, but not a big deal. Overall, I highly recommend if you're visiting Charleston and don't want to bother with downtown.
