The Lindy Renaissance Charleston Hotel consistently receives positive feedback for its prime location, friendly staff, and overall ambiance, particularly the attentive service of individuals like Richard and Brent. However, recurring concerns regarding room quality, noise levels, and inconsistent service experiences, particularly related to bathroom cleanliness and elevator maintenance, often detract from the guest experience.
I had a wonderful experience at The Lindy Hotel. The facility is exceptionally clean and well maintained, which immediately made a great impression. I also loved the thoughtful touches—especially the Starbucks coffee in the rooms, the wide range of food options in the café, and the inviting atmosphere of the bar area. The location is perfect for easy access to great shopping, historic sites and even a Target. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the customer service. I’m in town for an important work conference and unfortunately left my packet of assessments and preparation materials at home. Eddie at the front desk went above and beyond—he quickly made copies of everything I needed and even printed a second set “just in case.” That level of attentiveness and care is rare these days. I highly recommend The Lindy Hotel and would absolutely stay here again.
Great place and it's close to King St. It was quiet, the service was impeccable, the rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was because the bathrooms were smaller than I like. They had a musician playing the sax Friday night, and that was really nice.
Richard made our trip very special. He was very friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed the 4 oclock drinks. Charcuterie board and appetizers. Nice touch that we expect from this level of hotel. As a titanium level guest we have rarely had a bad experience with employees, but we would never use Dana as a concierge and we felt like a bother to her at complimentary drink time. We noticed she treated the other guests in the same manner. Loved the rooms, but for breakfast and drinks and appetizers we preferred the Bohemian across the street Better options. Hotel is a great location and please keep your eye out from Richard. Hes amazing!!
The Lindy Renaissance is a great option if you want to be close to the heart of Charleston while still enjoying a full-service hotel experience. The location is excellent (easy access to the city and major attractions) and the amenities included with the resort fee are a nice bonus, especially the free tickets to the Charleston Museum. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and well-appointed, which made the stay very pleasant overall. Valet staff truly stood out: they were friendly, helpful, and consistently kind throughout our stay. The main downside was the breakfast service. It felt understaffed and slow (admittedly, it was Christmas Eve), and while the staff did ultimately redeem themselves, the initial experience wasn’t very accommodating. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but it did take away slightly from an otherwise enjoyable stay. Overall, a solid hotel with a great location and good amenities. I would recommend it and would consider staying again.
My daughter and I stayed at the Lindy recently and had an incredible experience. The location is perfect for restaurants and shopping. And the staff is incredible- especially Richard, who greeted us with a warm smile and helpful hand each time we saw him! We will be back!
We absolutely loved our stay at The Lindy, the hotel is beautiful, everyone that worked there were nice and so helpful and provided great recommendations for food and activities to do in town. The location is perfect, very close to the best restaurants, parks and shopping. I will be recommending this hotel to anyone heading to Charleston and will stay again! We were with our toddler and the hotel was very kid-friendly.
We had a wonderful experience at The Lindy! The bellman, Brent, was so helpful and friendly! We had drinks at the bar and the bartenders were super! Breakfast the next morning was delicious and Tommy was exceptional with his attention to detail and service. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are well equipped and pleasantly decorated. Thank you for another great Christmas Eve Eve staycation in downtown Charleston!
Perfect location to walk around the city. King Street for shopping is around the corner and East Bay Street for restaurants and bars is a short walk away. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Great little restaurant is attached and serves up delicious food and drinks.
Excellent experience at the Lindy. The hotel staff works hard to make sure you have a great stat. The valet are quick to help and always had our vehicle ready within five minutes of calling for it. The front desk staff keeps it moving and was able to accommodate all of our request. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The pool is a good spot to hang out on a sunny day and the attendant did a great job. Overalls I’d recommend the Lindy for those wanting a great experience while staying in Charleston.
I really wanted to love this stay. The record player, the curated art, and the modern boutique vibe all gave the room a personality that made me think: yep, they nailed the aesthetic. The bed was solid, and staff were professional and friendly from start to finish. But I was in Room 633, right in front of the elevators — and every 45 seconds, like clockwork, came a CLUNK. Not subtle. Not forgettable. If you’re a light sleeper, it’s a dealbreaker. Only two elevators in the building (with one down), so stairs or waiting became the theme of the week. Facilities were another miss. The ground-floor bathroom was under renovation, so every guest at a work conference had to funnel into the second floor restroom. Not ideal, and it showed. Cleanliness was “good from afar, but far from good in my bathroom.” The shower grout and back of the toilet both had visible grime — small details that matter when you’re paying boutique prices. And even though I had a King suite, I couldn’t get the room to chill below “mildly okay.” Set it to 67 all you want — you’ll get comfortable, but never true comfort. To be fair, this was my specific experience, tied to the floor and timing of my stay. Maybe these issues will be fixed later, or won’t be a factor for you. But for me, a pretty face is no substitute for a bad personality. The aesthetic was gorgeous, and the staff top tier, but bathroom scum, closed lobby-level facilities, elevator clunks every 45 seconds, and an A/C that couldn’t cool below “just fine” added up to less than ideal.
