I had a great stay here while visiting family in the area. The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained, which made the stay very comfortable. The room and common areas were spotless and everything felt well taken care of. The location was also perfect. It’s close to a lot of great shopping and restaurants, and it’s a convenient distance from the beach as well, which made getting around really easy. The front desk staff were polite, helpful, and very prompt whenever I had a question. I didn’t run into any issues during my stay, which made the experience even better. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely stay again the next time I’m in town visiting family.
I recently stayed at this location for a medical procedure. We chose this hotel because the Dr performing my procedure said that we would get the medical rate for our stay. When I booked online there was no option for medical rate. I thought I would have it changed when we arrived. The hotel refused to give us the medical rate saying there were no more rooms available at that rate. DO NOT stay at this hotel if you are having a medical procedure done in the Charleston area!
This is by far the most upscale Courtyard by Marriott Charleston I’ve ever stayed at. The lobby and public areas are beautifully designed, modern, and incredibly inviting — it immediately gives off a polished, high-end feel the moment you walk in. The rooms were just as impressive — clean, well-appointed, and very comfortable. Everything felt thoughtfully laid out and well maintained. There’s also plenty of convenient parking, and the location is excellent, close to shopping and a great selection of restaurants. If I’m ever back in the Charleston area, I will absolutely stay here again. I can highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable and elevated stay.
I'm giving this one star since zero isn't an option. We had to switch rooms at first because the sink was backed up. It only got worse from there—the beds in the new room had bedbugs. Absolutely disgusting. I broke out in a terrible allergic reaction all over my face, arms, and legs, which ruined several days of my trip. I still have scars, even after nearly 20 days
I booked a room, which my accommodation was not met, i was given a different room without notice. Still charged full price and I was reassured by front desk staff that the GM would either reach out to me or try to right the wrong which never happened. Also had a broken shower with clogged drain so the water pressure was half way and the tub filled as you shower.
Really disappointed this trip. Was here 3 weeks ago and it was fine. Housekeeping was acceptable, not superb by any means. This time around, I slept in bed all night then went to straighten up my pillows when I awoke. Was absolutely appalled to find crumbs in the bed. I had no food on the room. When I walked into the bathroom, I drug crumbs in there with me. Disgusting!! I went to the front desk and advised them. I asked that the sheets be changed and rug swept. They didn’t act surprised nor concerned. When I returned to my room, I have no clue whether they honored my request or just brushed the crumbs off. I’ve had no contact from housekeeping or management, which I don’t find acceptable. I return for business on a frequent basis and will choose a different hotel next time. Be aware to turn your sheets down AND check under your pillows. Gives me the heebie jeebies. Picture below shows food (I hope) caked into the desk chair in the room.
Beautiful hotel with a great ambiance. The room we had was small and dated. Small parking lot. We happened to be staying here at the same time as a baseball tournament? As I mentioned, it’s already a small parking lot and they don’t enforce parking of any sort. Truck with a trailer and a box truck took up twelve spots by themselves, which was infuriating but even more infuriating is the fact they didn’t do anything about it.
Staff was friendly, hotel was very out of date. Our room smelled like a wet dog. No cold A/C could reduce the moldy- dog smell. When I went to shower there was someone else’s hair stuck on the wall. Ugh- so terrible. Would never stay here again and do NOT recommend!!!
This was the worst hotel we have stayed at. We checked in late at night so we were exhausted from traveling all day- the older lady that was working was extremely rude and ran my card multiple times without telling me she did (the room was already booked and paid for). The lady denied running my card and said she put points back on my debt card which made zero sense. She said she has been working there for 18 years and she knew what she was doing.. She actually did not know what she was doing because I ended up speaking to another employee the next day. Our room was dirty- the shower drain was clogged and the ceiling had mold. This was by far the worst Marriott we have stayed at and we are platinum members. And the dining room where you can order drinks/food was closed the whole time we stayed there. We won’t be coming back.
Beautiful hotel, the pool looked very nice, although we didn't have time to go into it. Front desk woman had a bit of an attitude when we first checked in about having 3 people in our room but we worked it out. Other than that I would recommend this hotel.
