The Charleston Marriott offers a generally pleasant stay with a good location near the airport and some positive amenities like a pool and fitness center. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistent service, aging facilities, and issues with room cleanliness and responsiveness from staff. While some guests praise the friendly staff and overall atmosphere, others have experienced issues with outdated rooms, slow check-in, and inadequate housekeeping.

I will say I really did enjoy the stay here as we came in early and were able to get one of our rooms and while we waited for the other we walked around the property. I will say this hotel is better geared towards event space. It's just that it needs some updates. If they focused on the rooms and the outside of the hotel, while taking care of the plants near the garage, this place would have so much potential. We were able to enjoy the properties. Many different amenities, which included the pool, fitness center and the concierge lounge. It was very beautiful with the layout was very well thought out. It was also very close to a publix, which was in walking distance and this is also surrounded by water and a park right across the street. Now I will note during our stay that my husband was given coupons at check in but they didn't even explain to him that he got a free pretzel. Whenever we went over there to tell them about it They just told him he should have read it because it had to have been before seven o'clock. Just a little side note, maybe this will be read by someone that can treat those kind of situations better. Anyway, all in on it was a pretty great property. Thanks for the great breakfast. It was great to be able to have a decent stay with a nice bed before our trip to the airport. Plenty of parking for self parking. Would you have to pay for but they have a parking garage so that's nice as well.

I have been a guest at this hotel on multiple occasions and, unfortunately, my recent experiences have been completely different from the positive experiences I had when I first started staying here. What was once a welcoming and hospitable environment has turned into one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered. During my recent stays, I have been met with disrespectful attitudes, unprofessional behavior, smart remarks, and a complete lack of hospitality. Instead of feeling valued as a paying guest, I felt dismissed and, at times, spoken to in a manner that was both rude and unacceptable. To make matters worse, I experienced issues with being overcharged and had difficulty getting clear answers or assistance when trying to address my concerns. Rather than resolving problems professionally, I was met with backlash and poor communication. Customer service should be a top priority in the hospitality industry, and unfortunately that has not been my experience here lately. It is disappointing to see such a decline in the way guests are treated. Based on my recent experiences, I can no longer recommend this hotel and hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the level of professionalism and respect shown to guests. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe other potential guests should be aware of the treatment I have experienced.

Location is good, and the lobby and conference rooms are beautiful. However, I've booked better rooms at lower tier hotels before. No accessible microwaves in the room or the lobby to be found, either. In town for a bodybuilding competition with hundreds of competitors and after somebody asked, they finally set up two microwaves for everybody to use. Expensive place to eat cold food all week.

During my two-night stay over Memorial Day weekend, I checked in on Saturday and checked out on Monday. On Sunday morning, before leaving for the day, we noticed housekeeping staff cleaning nearby guest rooms, so we assumed our room would also receive light housekeeping service while we were out. However, when we returned Sunday evening, nothing had been done to the room. We were traveling with four guests, including two children, so we had diapers, trash from room service, and a need for fresh towels and washcloths. Since the room had not been serviced, I had to locate housekeeping staff at the end of the hall to request clean towels and ask that the trash be removed. I ultimately had to carry the trash to them myself. At checkout on Monday morning, I spoke with the manager about the situation. She explained that this was not standard procedure and that rooms are typically lightly serviced with fresh towels provided and trash removed, although beds are not made and vacuuming is not done. While I appreciated her acknowledgment of the issue, I did not feel the resolution matched the inconvenience we experienced. She offered Marriott points for compensation but Because I am not a Marriott member, I was offered a $50 credit toward my stay. Considering I spent over $1,300 for the two nights, I felt this compensation was inadequate given that we had to spend an entire night in an unserviced and uncomfortable room. I believe the situation could have been handled more appropriately, such as offering a complimentary future night’s stay or additional compensation for the inconvenience.

Loved our stay at the Charleston Marriott. Great location as we wanted good access to both Folly Beach and historic downtown. We found the staff kind and helpful at every corner, from check-in to valet. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We opted for the concierge floor, made for an easier breakfast start to busy days. The food at Saffire restaurant was outstanding and we loved the outdoor patio area. Highly recommend a balcony room facing the river, the sunsets will not disappoint!

Another exceptional experience staying with Marriott. Thank you so much for the hospitality with our WiRL group the past couple of days. From front desk to housekeeping the Charleston Marriott was so kind and always went above and beyond for any needs. I highly recommend this location to anyone traveling in the Charleston area.

Great location and nice rooms. Takes 30 minutes to check in...other than that, it was a great location and nice place. Maybe train the night staff to speed up the check-in process!

This is typical Marriott experience. Neither outstanding nor bad. Being Titanium Bonvoy Member, it is easy to see the really big differentiators, whether really great or very bad. Here it is sold 3-3.5 out of 5. The location is not bad, but not ideal. It is pleasant water facing property, but 2 miles from historic center. Need car to drive or grab Lyft/Uber. The service was friendly and generally fine. The complimentary breakfast in the Lounge was "mew", nothing good. The hotel building and common areas are nothing special, dated too. The rooms are ok, not particularly large and old, but clean and adequately appointed. Bathrooms are on a smaller and older side. The rate was moderate. Another typical US city Marriott, nothing more to add here.

Weather for business or pleasure. We have always stated the marriott, and this time was no exception with its phenomenal spectacular service. The place inside is fabulous and everything is clean and the hotel smells amazing. all my work colleagues were really surprised and impressed and so was I. it was twenty of us and afterwards one evening we went to blom, coffee and wine bar and we just absolutely loved it there. they have all the red rose and white wine one could possibly one.And then afterwards we all headed out to dinner in the downtown area, which was also amazing. but everything started with the stay at the hotel charleston marriott. Ten stars because twenty were not available.

I enjoyed a great stay here at Charleston Marriott. Located within a 10 minute Uber drive from downtown, made for a convenient spot. The front desk staff were super friendly, including the housekeepers. The rooms are nicely designed and come with a fridge!! Really enjoyed
