The Andrew Pinckney Inn consistently receives rave reviews for its excellent location, charming atmosphere, and genuinely friendly staff. Guests praise the included breakfast, afternoon wine and cheese reception, and walkable proximity to Charleston’s historic attractions. While some rooms are noted as small, the overall experience is described as comfortable and memorable.
Our stay at the Andrew Pinckney Inn was great. The hotel is centrally located within easy walking distance of all of the downtown Charleston area, including great restaurants, shopping, museums, and many of the major historical sites. The service from the hotel staff was outstanding, and includes a hot breakfast, afternoon wine & appetizers, and more. Our room was quiet, spacious and very comfortable. We highly recommend this hotel for your visit to Charleston.
Very charming inn with a great, cozy feel. The free breakfast was actually good, and the breakfast nook area was very pretty! Service is warm and welcoming. The location is literally a 15 minute walk to prime tourist area, making it easily within reach while also staying separate from the noise and grime.
This was my third trip to Charleston and Andrew Pinckney Inn has absolutely been the best place I've stayed. Guaranteed to be the place we stay again when we return to Charleston if they keep offering the same service and quality. The staff working the wine and cheese hour and the breakfast in the solarium are simply the finest, most genuinely nice people we met in Charleston. Location is outstanding, an easy walk to all the restaurants you would want to try, the battery, the museums, the aquarium, you name it and only a block from the city market and all the sweetgrass basket shopping! Do not miss this absolute gem, you won't go wrong!
The Andrew Pinckney Inn is a true hidden gem. Perfectly located within walking distance of Charleston’s restaurants, shopping, and major attractions, it delivers Southern hospitality at its finest. Our room, while small, was cozy, spotless, and very comfortable — especially the bed after long days of sightseeing. Breakfast each morning was outstanding, with fresh quiche, potatoes (the au gratin were excellent), meats, cereals, bakery items, and fresh fruit including berries. The daily afternoon wine and cheese gathering was a wonderful touch, featuring individual charcuterie boards with cheeses, fruit, figs, dates, and crackers. Most impressive of all was the staff — genuinely warm, attentive, and eager to make our stay special. We truly felt like guests in someone’s home. Valet parking is available for a small fee, and both breakfast and the afternoon reception were included. We would absolutely stay here again.
A truly superb stay, we would love to return to Charleston and stay at the Andrew Pickney again. Besides being a perfect location to walk around the city from, the staff are stellar, kudos to each of them - they are all friendly, intelligent people focused on the guest's experience from check in to check out. The person who checked us in was friendly, welcome and professional and went the distance to wish us a happy milestone anniversary. Both people at the valet parking were super helpful. The room was lovely, comfortable bed, quality linens, plenty of amenities (though we would get a slightly larger room next time). The breakfast was wonderful, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, juices, oatmeal, egg dishes and pastries as well as hot beverages. The wine and cheese hour at 4 was a treat, especially because of Barbara, who hosted us for the hour. We were warmly welcomed and treated to her knowledge of Charleston, her super sense of humour and crudité snacks. A truly wonderful experience. We look forward to the next visit!
We loved everything about this charming place made up of multiple buildings and right in the thick of historic Charleston. It is a block from the marketplace and there are restaurants and bars all around and walkable to South of Broad too. Very convenient location. THE BEST breakfast we've ever had anywhere we have stayed. There was fresh fruit everyday, pastries, breads, egg dishes, meat. Anything you could want along with the regular yogurt and cereal. What made our first day's breakfast extra special was Cynthia (Miss Cynthia to the younger crowd), she is a gem and made us love this place more! I could not give the rooms five stars because of something I read previously in many reviews; those bathrooms. You've got a nice vanity area which could be made smaller and the tiniest toilet, shower area known to man and I've been to Europe! The door barely closes and that is the only door. Still, due to its charm, breakfast, friendly staff (and they all were) and central location I would 100% recommend this hotel!
This quaint inn is location is great! Easy way to EVERYTHING! A couple of blocks from the market. A less than a block from 3 carriage companies! Easy to get to and cheapest parking was their own valet. We were able to park and not worry about a thing from arrival to departure. Breakfast had a great variety and was really good, also try the cranberry lemon curd muffins! Wine and cheese reception nightly. Felt very safe walking the city even at night! Room was very comfortable! Staff was friendly and took care of every need! 10/10 will be our go to when here! Also Hanks restaurant is on the back side of the Inn and the food and atmosphere was wonderful!
This was a truly lovely stay. Convenient to so much of the architectural and culinary delights of Charleston. The breakfast was delicious, the welcome hour was very thoughtful with a nice selection of snacks and wine. And the solarium, where the food was served, was wonderful; five floors above the city with light and plenty of seating. A great place to get to know other guests or curl up with a book or a laptop and relax. The staff was warm and very accommodating, especially the breakfast and wine hour folks. Everyone there was very much appreciated and we will look forward to staying there again!
The Andrew Pinckney Inn was a fantastic place to stay. The rooms were very clean and well kept, bed was comfortable, the room was a little small which is expected in a historic area/hotel. The staff were kind and very helpful, valet parking was prompt and courtious, and was a great deal compared to on street parking or garage parking. The breakfast and daily wine/cheese tasting felt so elegant, especially on the top floor glass enclosed eating area overlooking the South side of Charleston. We made sure to be back everyday in time to relax, drink wine, and snack on some cheese. One of the best aspects of the Andrew Pinckney Inn was the location. We started off our day with the city market like 2 blocks away, then the first night with a ghost tour which started just down the street. Everything was walkable within about 20 minutes, including the museums, aquarium, King Street, Rainbow Row, and the waterfront. The area felt extremely safe, like you were living in a hallmark movie. We didnt pull out our car from Valet other than to go home, the location and walkability was fantastic.
I love the Andrew Pinckney Inn & have stayed here one other time. It is top class for the care given to even the smallest details. The location is wonderful for closeness of the horse carriage services, the Market Place & fabulous restaurants. It is close to shopping, the beautiful homes leading all the way to the large green space near the water which is filled with history. The room was a gem, breakfast a delite & the Happy Hour was enjoyable. The staff beginning with the quaint reception area & those out and about were all very friendly and helpful. I look forward to my next visit to Charleston & the Andrew Pinckney Inn!
