Had the BEST stay for my 30th birthday and a surprise engagement! The pictures don't do the property justice. It's such an authentic and wonderful property with an insane amount of charm! The staff were all wonderful-- attentive and kind. I couldn't recommend the hotel enough. Can't wait to go back!

We stayed at Zero George for an anniversary trip to Charleston and cannot recommend it enough. The staff was exceptional on every level and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We loved all the extras including the wine and cheese hour and nightly cookies. We will definitely be making this our regular spot when we visit Charleston.

Beautiful accommodations, but unfortunately we were unable to stay the night as planned and left after spending less than two hours in the room (less than one hour before our dinner reservation and less than one hour after our dinner reservation). Before leaving for dinner, we killed more than 20 mosquitoes in the room. When we returned, there were even more. Despite our efforts, mosquitoes continued to appear, and we could not determine where they were coming from. Ultimately, we did not feel we could comfortably sleep in the room and decided to leave that night, shortly after we returned from dinner. We also encountered an issue with the room safe, which was locked upon arrival. Staff was unable to unlock it before we had to leave for our dinner reservation. We would have expected these types of issues to be identified before the room was rented to guests. We did not request a refund, nor were we contacted by hotel management the next day after our abrupt departure. While the property itself was beautiful, the experience was disappointing.

Stayed for 2 nights in March, reserved a queen veranda room. At checking learned the room faced East Nay St, very busy noisy traffic. Asked to be moved away from the noisy road so they put us in a room on the third floor of a different building that had no veranda like the one we reserved. We were told we could use the porch in front of another guests room. We'll we could if we wanted to disturb them. No discount, the room we got was much smaller,no veranda. Breakfast was serve yourself, fruit, egg bits, some sausage and your choice of bread you could toast and warm yourself. We ,needless to say we're very disappointed as we paid over $600 a night. We also stayed at The Vendue on this trip, large rooms, fabulous lobby with coffee and light breakfast in the morning. Service was excellent and the place is beautiful and has a great location near all the restaurants on East Bay St and the waterfront for 1/3 the cost of Zero George, we won't stay at Zero George on our next trip, very disappointing!

Zero George Hotel and Restaurant delivered an experience that felt truly extraordinary from start to finish. This is easily one of my favorite stays globally and a place I will be talking about for a long time. Restaurant and food The food was phenomenal, striking the perfect balance between incredible flavor and artistic presentation. Every dish that came to the table looked like a work of art, with thoughtful plating that made you pause for a moment just to take it in before tasting. The A5 Wagyu was especially delicious…rich, tender, and cooked perfectly, it stood out even in an already exceptional meal. Overall, there was a clear sense of creativity and care in the menu, both in taste and in how beautifully everything was displayed. Service at the restaurant Service at the restaurant matched the quality of the food in every way. My server was knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu, offering helpful explanations and recommendations without ever feeling intrusive. They answered questions with confidence, guided the experience smoothly, and added to the sense that this was a very special evening. Their kindness and professionalism helped make the meal feel both elevated and relaxed at the same time. Hotel atmosphere and vibe The hotel itself felt like stepping into another era, a transport back to colonial history with a stylish, intimate twist. The architecture, details, and ambiance created a mood that I can only describe as “vampires and vintage,” in the best possible way: romantic, slightly mysterious, and full of character. Walking through the property felt like moving through a beautifully preserved piece of history, but with all the comfort and luxury of a modern boutique stay. I was beyond thrilled by how immersive and unique the atmosphere was. Concierge and overall stay The concierge went above and beyond to elevate the stay even further. Their recommendations for tourist attractions, local spots, and things to do around the city were thoughtful, personalized, and spot on, making it easy to get the most out of the trip. Every interaction with the staff, from the front desk to the restaurant, reinforced the feeling that they truly cared about my experience. Thank you to both the restaurant and hotel teams for creating a stay that felt special in every detail. 10/10

Excellent service from the moment you step foot in the property (special shoutouts to Louisa and Rachel). Staying here feels like you were transported back in time in the best way. If you want to experience true southern hospitality and exceptional dining, stay at Zero George. It is also very conveniently located if you are exploring Charleston's historic attractions.

Best stay I've had anywhere. The property is absolutely stunning & the service is top notch. All of the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We stayed in one of the Anson suites - loved how oversized it was & having a separate vanity room to do makeup and get ready in. The room was stocked with carafes of water and a nespresso machine. We had a huge semi-private patio that we ate breakfast on each morning. The bed and linens were incredibly comfortable. There are 2 cleaning services per day and they bring fresh baked cookies, fresh carafes of water, ear buds and slippers with the turn down service at night. So many items were branded with their logo, which made all the details feel intentional. There is a white noise machine in the room. We made a reservation at the caviar bar and were able to order one of the items from the tasting menu. Everything was so good, I can't wait to come back and do the testing menu. There is also complimentary wine & charcuterie at 5PM each day - you can sit in the gardens/courtyard. The location is about a 10 minute walk from most things downtown. We uber'ed at night and didn't have any issues. Highly recommend, I can't wait to return!

The best hotel in the world — Zero George, Charleston. There are beautiful hotels, and then there is Zero George — a place that feels like a perfectly written story you never want to end. From the moment you step inside, everything here breathes quiet elegance and southern charm. The courtyard with its jasmine-scented air, the creaking wooden floors, the slow rhythm of the city outside the gates — it all feels like time has gently stopped to let you rest and enjoy. The service is pure perfection: warm, discreet, and deeply personal. You feel like everyone here genuinely cares about your comfort, but never overdoes it. Breakfast in the garden is a ritual — homemade granola, fresh pastries, and the kind of coffee that makes you want to linger for hours. The rooms are filled with light and character, every detail thoughtfully chosen — from the linen bedding to the vintage-inspired lighting. And of course, the restaurant. Dining here is an experience that rivals Michelin stars — seasonal, creative, and full of soul. I’ve stayed in many beautiful places, but Zero George is in a category of its own. It’s not just a hotel — it’s a feeling you’ll want to carry with you long after you’ve left.

The food is so good, almost indescribable. Their ability to fuse taste, texture, and temperature is amazing. Tried the 6-course food tasting with wine pairing. Sommelier could not have done a better job with the pairing. Worth every cent!
