The Cambria Hotel Mt. Pleasant receives mixed reviews, with notable praise for cleanliness, location, and staff friendliness, particularly highlighted in recent stays. However, concerns regarding inconsistent service, noise levels, and operational issues (such as pool closures and elevator problems) have been repeatedly raised, creating significant variability in the guest experience.
Clean and spacious but lacking basics. Apparently they have a restaurant and bar but it was never open, they insisted on closing the pool every night at 830 pm every night instead at 10 as advertised. We had kids attending a baseball tournament and the pool is one reason we stayed here. Zero breakfast options although advertied. The elevator went out at 7am and the front desk person got an attitude when I asked if it automatically resets or do they have to call someone? Sorry but before we haul all our suit cases down 4 flights of stairs thought I'd ask. It never reset because... yes you have to call someone its obviously not resetting after an hour. Would not recommend and will not be back.
I stayed at this hotel for a few nights for work, and I can’t say enough good things about it; great location, staff is really nice, room was sparkling clean and with a cool design. On top of all of this, I did some photography work during my stay in SC, while editing in my room the last night of my stay, I forgot an SD card with a good bit of photos I needed, before I even realized I was missing it, the hotel staff called me to let me know they found it and will mail it to me, this really saved me a big headache. Thank you!
I MEAN, I travel alot! In my 50 years have I found a balanced hotel like this. Clean! Friendly and attentive staff, quiet, relaxed, roomy, conveniently located! Only 7 minutes to downtown Charleston, if that...Minutes from Sullivan's Island & Isle of Palms. FABULOUS And I'm a repeat customer many times over. HIGHLY recommend and I wasn't paid to say this!
The room is clean, spacious and smells fantastic. The front desk clerk is very friendly. The price is reasonable. The only issue is that they don’t have breakfast.
I wasn’t going to write a review because the hotel clerk who checked me in was so nice but I have to. I had extended stay a day because our company scheduled a zoom meeting at 11:00am. I was in the meeting with my boss and our clients. The hotel phone starts ringing. Everyone on zoom tries to ignore it. It stops and starts again. I apologize and ask them to ignore it. Then my cell phone starts ringing. Then again another call when I don’t answer. Then they leave a text. I call after the meeting and am told they found the reservation and just wanted to know if I wanted to stay in the same room. REALLY??? So the next morning I’m checking out and exactly 11am here goes the phone again. I’m trying to gather my things and now I’m rushing out the door. I realize over 20 miles from the hotel I’ve forgotten my medicine in the fridge. I drive all the way back. Then that night I get home and realize I left my Invisalign retainers in the bathroom. It’s going to cost me a fortune to have a new one made and sent before my teeth shift. This is not a Hilton or higher end hotel where you feel relaxed. They want you in and out!
The stuff we're all very helpful and pleasant the hotel itself is definitely deceiving and was much bigger than we anticipated. The hotel was very clean the rooms were definitely meeting our needs for accessibility. Will definitely book again on a return trip
Stayed here for three nights and chose this hotel because of all the “quiet”reviews. I was looking for a peaceful and quiet place to stay. It turned out to be a very noisy hotel! The windows seem to be soundproof, however the floors were the opposite and carried noise. We listened to the guests above us stomp and bang around much of the time and you can hear doors slamming often. If you have an adjoining room next to you, you might as well be staying in the same room as the people on the other side of the wall. Outside of the noise, the rooms are designed well, nicely appointed, and the beds and pillows are comfortable. The customer service is very good and the location is very convenient. However, if you’re looking for quiet, look elsewhere.
The Cambria Hotel in Mount Pleasant was excellent! The staff were warm and welcoming, the room was spotless and modern, and the whole property felt clean, comfortable, and upscale. The location is perfect for exploring Charleston and the nearby beaches. I’d definitely stay here again!
The hotel was clean and the staff that I interacted with were very nice and accommodating. The view from my window was very undesirable as it had a view of the back lot of the garage next door. I’ll attach a picture. Looked like a junkyard more than a garage. I was there for a week, kept the window closed the whole time. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean. They had a coffee bar in the morning but to be honest, the K-Cup free coffee in the room is better. They have a laundry and the use for wash and dry is $2 per wash or dry but they do give you soap and dryer sheets if you ask at the front desk. Gym and pool looked nice but I did not try.
Avoid at all costs. My work keeps me on the road over half the nights in a year, have stayed at hundreds of hotels across the country. This location is certainly one of the absolute worst I've ever stayed at. Loud rooms, no breakfast, unhelpful staff. Shower floors are extremely slippery and no grip pads offered. They had a restaurant/bar area but nothing was staffed the entire night. You don't even get a bottle of water upon check in, for $250 a night which is insulting. I had a random bloody nose in the middle of the night that got two tiny drops of blood on the corner of the sheet. Hotel charged me $30 for this. This is way out of the norm for any hotel. Overall a terrible experience that wouldn't have even been worth paying 1/4 of what they charged.
