The Andell Inn consistently receives high praise for its beautiful design, exceptional staff, and prime location near shops, restaurants, and the beach. Guests rave about the excellent breakfast, live music, and overall luxurious experience, often comparing it to boutique hotels. However, some recent reviews highlight issues with room readiness, service speed, and pool accessibility.
Amazing family getaway! This beautiful 3-story hotel made us feel like we were in another country. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and we loved the live music and mimosas in the morning! ?The beach is pristine and very clean. We even got lucky and saw dolphins swimming right along the shore! Being so close to the shops at Freshfields Village made everything so easy. Highly recommend for a relaxing family trip near Charleston!
Easily one of the top 3 hotels I’ve stayed at in the past 20 years. This place perfects what an authentic Charleston experience should be—exceptional accommodations, curated boutique shopping, and seriously delicious food, all right there basically on the same property. But here’s what really sets it apart: the staff. We’ve stayed at a lot of hotels over the years, and the genuine southern hospitality here was next level. Every interaction felt thoughtful and personal, not scripted or robotic. They clearly take pride in what they do, and it shows. My wife and I are already planning our return trip. If you’re looking for the real Charleston experience without the tourist trap nonsense, this is it.
A reasonably priced, beautifully designed, clean hotel. Everything looks grand new. A hot delicious breakfast is included. They serve Mamosas and yummy biscuits and gravy. The pool is legit heated. The only downside - not hot tub, no food service until 4pm. After traveling food and drinks by the pool is a must. Uber Eats took over an hour.
An exemplary hotel experience in all regards. Room is spacious, very clean, with updated furnishings and electronics. Mini kitchen with full size fridge, stove top, prep area and sink, with all dishes and Ute sips are very convenient. There were no surprises upon arrival with a pleasant and efficient check in and a room ready on time. All interactions with staff have been pleasant and helpful; over 5 days not a negative interaction but many very pleasant ones. Breakfast is most definitely in the top tier of all Marriott properties serving a free meal. Fresh, real eggs, a variety of meats, biscuits and gravy, a variety of fruits and veggies, and limited pastries and breads. If you’re diabetic or gluten free you’ll find a good meal here. Proximity to shops, eateries, and the beach is very easy. Parking is practically front door. The property is lovely with seating outside and a well sized pool - but not big enough for laps. I’d have no hesitation about another stay and find this to be amongst the best non-resort Marriott properties we’ve encountered. In actuality you’d assume this is a local boutique hotel if you didn’t already know it was a Marriott hotel. Cudos to management and staff for making this a reality.
The Crown Jewel of the Marriott Portfolio - As a Lifetime Marriott Titanium Elite member, I've stayed at countless properties worldwide, but The Andell Inn is the finest hotel in the entire Marriott portfolio. What truly sets this property apart are the employees including Marisa, the Assistant General Manager. She is one of the best hotel managers I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Her attention to detail, genuine warmth, and commitment to excellence are unparalleled. Marisa doesn't just manage a hotel she creates unforgettable experiences. If you're looking for a Marriott property that exemplifies luxury hospitality, The Andell Inn is your destination. Highly recommended!
Amazing destination hotel! No complaints, but I have a suggestion... We had a suite room with a kitchen of course. The only improvement I suggest is get rid of Starbucks coffee.. and have a single cup coffee maker with a quality coffee available to use. People who enjoy a good coffee no matter what time of day or night, would appreciate it! Aside from that .. absolutely wonderful hotel with great friendly staff always willing to assist you!
This hotel is located right next to plenty of shops and restaurants! The hotel is clean and has a bar inside. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and has many options. They do live music during Saturday breakfast and it was very nice. They have an outside sitting area that is nice and relaxing. The pool is on the smaller side but a nice treat!
Not the best welcome.... Doesn't worth the price... The room was not ready as it was supposed to be. We've ordered a suite for 3 persons but the sofa bed wasn't ready and it took way too much time to set it up. And when finally someone from housekeeping came, she burst into the room like it's a public area. What happened to knocking before entering a guest room?! Poor mobile signal and wifi without internet access. Nice bar but come on, one bartender to serve dozens of customers?! Didn't get any drink even when I was waiting for 15 minutes at the bar until i despaired and left. No smoking all around the property, not even a small area at the parking lot to hide from the rine. Only ONE entrance, dozens of exits, so we had to circle the entire property every time to enter. We have electronic keys for the rooms, why not adding the same lock on these exits?! The sofa bed... a sofa maybe, a bed, definitely NOT. Impossible to sleep on it. No second chance to make a first impression.....
The absolute nicest Residence in you have ever seen! Marriott missed the branding mark on this property because while the rooms do have kitchenets and the suites do have separate living rooms, the property is exquisite! It offers Mimosas at breakfast, live jazz music, an ambiance that better fits an Autograph Collection property. The staff are kind and attentive and the location is prime - close enough to Kiawah to bike (2.5 miles) and adjacent to the fresh fields shopping. This is an absolute return destination. Also flocks of wetland bird-centric art around every corner.
When I say this was one of my favorite hotels to stay…..I am very picky when it comes to hotels . I get the ick quickly. But everything about this hotel was amazing. Just driving up the cobblestone driveway we were impressed but once we walked in, let’s just say the interior designer did his/her thing. The overall vibe is so relaxing and great for family as well as a quick getaway. Also, the rooms were very clean and nicely appointed . They have complimentary chairs for the beach as well as a shuttle. And the breakfast in the morning had everything you needed including mimosas! I will def be back.
