The Hyatt Place Charleston Airport/Convention Center offers a convenient location near the Convention Center, Tanger Outlets, and the airport, with spacious rooms and generally friendly staff. While praised for its cleanliness and breakfast, some guests have reported dated rooms, operational issues like Wi-Fi and inconsistent housekeeping, and issues with room features such as sink placement and bed size.
Very nice hotel. Breakfast could be improved with better cooking of the grits (way too runny) and better choice of meats. The room was nice but I didn't like the fact that the bathroom sink was outside of the bathroom. All front desk staff were friendly. Wish they accepted cash payments instead of card only.
Rooms are a bit dated, but that seems to be a theme with Hyatt. Service was good, except my request for housekeeping was disregarded. Great location next to Convention Center, Tanger Outlets, and more. Overall, would stay here again. My only feedback is to honor a basic request for housekeeping during the operation hours or communicate if it can't be done. Non pork meat option(s) for guests and a lemon/fruit juice squeezer so the bartender does not have to manually press fruit.
We took a 3-day trip to Charleston and stayed at the Hyatt Place Charleston Airport for 2 nights. We booked the room online and checked in when we arrived. Our room was great! Plenty of space, and the two queen beds were good. The breakfast at the hotel was also really good, perfect to keep us going throughout the day. There were a few minor things too. The hotel was a bit older, especially the lift. Plus, there wasn't a sink inside the bathroom. It was outside and the power outlets weren't near the bed either. The stay was pretty good, apart from a few small things. The best part was the location, it was right near all the amenities.
I didn’t have a chance to review anything else due to a sign on the door stating “must use guest key to enter the lobby” at 2:00pm on a Sunday. I was going there to see a friend and inquire about it a room but the sign turned me away. I can understand if it’s between 11pm and 6am due to safety concerns but early afternoon on a busy Sunday dosent see convenient for guest or future guest.
1. Wifi not working and therefore you can't watch TV. Front desk says it is a known issue they can't do anything about. 2. Breakfast very below average. Cream cheese not refrigerated even though it says it's required. 3. No lids for coffee (?!?) so can't take it to go. 4. No maid service during the day. Please go elsewhere.
The hotel is not perfect, but it is entirely sufficient for a pleasant stay. The room was spacious, although the air conditioning was somewhat loud. The door had quite a gap at the bottom, allowing hallway noises to be heard clearly. The cleanliness could be improved, as the sofa had visible stains, among other things. However, what stood out positively was the staff— from the reception to the kitchen and housekeeping, they were incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful. The location of the hotel is also a significant plus, being close to the airport and an outlet. Additionally, it was great that we could print our flight tickets directly at the hotel!
Stayed here for the weekend. Very nice convenient location, clean rooms, great breakfast buffet, friendly staff. What more can I say … It’s a great place to stay.
The staff here is fantastic every time I stay here. My rooms are always clean and comfortable. The property is clean. I've not taken advantage of the breakfast, but I'm sure it's great. The location is very central and easy to get in and out to the highways.
This was the ideal place to stay for the conference at the North Coliseum. It's within walking distance about an 8-10 minutes walk. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds and 1 sofa bed. There was a fridge, microwave and a big TV. It was clean. I liked the shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. I took advantage of the pool in between conferences, and it was refreshing. I enjoyed the free apples in the lobby. I also appreciated the breakfast buffet that's included with the stay. There were many offerings of fruits, eggs, meat, potatoes, oatmeal, cereal, & pastries. I felt like there was plenty of seating. The ambiance was modern and clean. The front desk staff were pretty friendly and helpful. I wish i would have written down the name of the staff that worked Saturday morning on April 26th around 830AM-12pm. She knows customer service skills and needs recognition. Thanks for a nice place to stay on vacation!
My mom and I came down from NC to see Chicago at the performing arts center next door. We were so close, we walked. It's about 10 min walk. Very accessible via a sidewalk. The hotel as a whole is very beautiful. Very clean. Breakfast was amazing! Lizzy at the front desk is amazing, helpful, and super sweet! We loved our visit and will definitely recommend/ stay again.
