Enjoyed the stay at The Loutrel with my husband. The staff was friendly, the rooms were cleaned, bed was comfortable to sleep in and I appreciated front desk sharing that everything in the room was free. They had snacks, bottles of waters, canned coffee, sodas etc which filled the fridge. On top of that, those items were replenished during our stay. We didn't use a third of what was provided but we loved that it was available to us and that they certainly didn't nickel and dime us. That was refreshing.

I can't say enough positive things about our recent stay at the Loutrel. The location is perfect, especially for first time visitors. Nearby award winning restaurants, historical landmarks and other tourist attractions. The staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. The rooms/bathrooms are extremely clean, modern and nicely decorated with very comfortable bedding. There are a number of included perks such as breakfast, happy hour and evening turn down service. While there are a number of first class hotels in Charleston to choose from, the Loutrel should be considered at the top of your list. I highly recommend!

The Loutrel is exceptional. Southern hospitality at its finest. Husband and I stayed there for 8 nights, and everything was great. This was our third time in Charleston, and the third hotel we have tried in town, and The Loutrel is hands down the best one. Everyone is so nice, welcoming and helpful - from the valet, to concierge, front desk, breakfast staff, and housekeeping staff. The amenities are very nice too - the club room is nice and stocked with drinks and snacks, and the gym is well equipped with workout equipment, water, healthy snacks, cold towels, and very clean. In addition, the location is a plus, as you can walk to many shops and restaurants. Our room was so spacious and clean when we checked in (we got a lounge king), and it had a balcony. The size of the room was a surprise, as other hotels downtown have much smaller rooms. Housekeeping did our room every day, and they did a great job every single day during our stay. The staff also did our laundry a few times throughout our stay, and even hand washed some delicate clothes that we tried to take to a dry cleaners nearby but they couldn't take care of it. The tea service they have is awesome, and the turndown service every night where they prepare your room for the night and bring you a snack is great. They even gave us a ton of our favorite tea from Oliver Pluff & CO. I only wish the rooms had a bit more storage space and drawers for clothes! The Loutrel is definitely our go-to hotel now in Charleston. We'll be back!

Cant recommend The Loutrel enough. The hospitality was exceptional throughout our entire stay. We started off with a welcome drink at check in and the thoughtful amenities continued throughout our stay with complimentary breakfast, snacks and beverages in the lobby & room, and we were gifted with a complimentary bottle of wine shortly after we checked in. The hotel itself is a beautiful boutique property. Our room was spacious & very comfortable. The location was great, walkable to many coffee shops, restaurants, waterfront and historical sites. The attention to detail and outstanding service made our stay truly memorable. We would absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Charleston.

Our stay at The Loutrel was truly memorable! The rooms are stunning, super clean, and very comfortable. The service was excellent as well! We loved the many amenities the hotel provides such as the daily complimentary happy hour, the unlimited Fiji water, and mezzanine with snacks and games. The bar is a highlight with creative cocktails and delicious food options. The location is amazing - right in the heart of the French Quarter a minutes walk from top bars and restaurants. We would stay here again and highly recommend to all!

Absolutely the best hotel and service we’ve ever stayed at in the US. We stayed here for one day last year and returned for a 4 night stay in May and once again it exceeded all our expectations. As an example, they have lovely cloth cocktail napkins at the bar (great happy hour with signature drink every afternoon) and asked if they sold them. They don’t but the bar manager came over and showed us the website where they get them and provided all the details and contact info so we could order them ourselves. The rooms a beautiful and well stocked with included local snacks and drinks (think free mini bar!) that’s restocked each day. The staff is so helpful, gracious and friendly. The rooms are clean and have everything you need to make your stay more than pleasant. The location is an easy walk from most of the local sites, attractions and great restaurants. The concierge was able to get us reservations at a number of hard to get places (definitely have a meal at Magnolias and Anton’s). I wouldn’t consider staying at any other hotel in Charleston.

This was my first time to Charleston and I couldn’t have picked a better spot. The hotel was easy to get to on a nice quiet side street. It’s located in walking distance to everything! The staff is so kind and friendly and the snacks and drinks were such nice amenities to have waiting for us back in the room. The room was a bit small but clean. The bed is amazing- the robes - not so much. There is a Dyson hair dryer in the bathroom for convenience. Complementary breakfast was nice but very basic. I expected to see some additions like smoked salmon or sliced meats - maybe a sliced tomato. Overall - I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Loutrel to anyone coming to visit. I’d like the thank the staff for making my birthday memorable and my stay amazing. Thank you.

From the time we arrived until the time we checked out, our 3-night stay at The Loutrel couldn’t have been more pleasant. All the staff members are welcoming, friendly, and eager to please. We’ll give a special shout out to Logan at the front desk when we arrived and to Christina and Hannah in the Veranda Lounge for their friendly conversation during the Finest Hour complementary drink service! Everything in the hotel is well maintained and exceptionally clean. Our corner room (404) was spacious and beautifully appointed. It was also very quiet at night with just a bit of street noise during the day from the nearby construction, but that didn’t disturb us since we were out and about anyway. We spent only a short time on the rooftop terrace because it was a bit too hot one day and cool and breezy the others. It offers some nice views of the area and would be a pleasant place to have a drink in more cooperative weather. For exploring the French Quarter, the location is perfect. It’s just a short walk to attractions like the Charleston City Market and to numerous restaurants. If we make it back to Charleston in the future, The Loutrel will be our go-to lodging.

We had an incredible stay at The Loutrel celebrating our 15-year anniversary. From the moment we arrived, everything felt intentional and elevated. Logan made the check-in and check-out process seamless and welcoming. He was professional, personable, and set the tone for the entire stay. You can tell the staff truly cares about the guest experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, quiet, and perfectly located—ideal for a relaxing and meaningful getaway. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special milestone. Highly recommend

Absolutely stunning! Our second time staying here. Location is fantastic, you can walk everywhere and it’s just a block from the public market. Rooms are beautiful. Our room was huge, beautiful bathroom and lovely balcony with rockers! Free snacks and drinks in your room and in the Mezzanine, they even have free drinks in the bar at happy hour for guests from 4-5 as well as a free continental breakfast which was very good. Everyone there was so pleasant and willing to help any way they could. This is truly an outstanding property run extremely well. We will go out of our way to return to The Loutrel any time we possibly can, and would highly recommend!
